Arizona's Offensive Line

Recommended Posts

Arizona's run blocking last year was gawd-awful. The worst I've ever seen.

That said, they were running schemes that wouldn't block my toddler's play group; and worse, they were coached by a guy who wasn't ready for the job. Green insisted on running antiquated schemes--the schemes sucked even when executed correctly, but more often then not they didn't get them right. Everret Lindsay, last year's oline coach had never coached ANYTHING in his life, what made Green think he could coach in the NFL?

Enter Steve Looney, a legit line coach. Exit antiquated schemes. Exit poor preparation. Exit more false starts than I care to count.

The Cardinals WANT to be able to pound the ball--and Edge should be able to find plenty of room behind guys that have talent, but haven't been put in positions to win. Looney will change that. Look for Edge to have a good year--nobody will be able to put 8 in the box against AZ.

Loney was here in MInny last year and was distracted from his OC position to try and fix the offensive line mess we had...he never really got it fixed. Bottom line is, you can be a genius in coaching terms, but if you don't have the bodies to execute the schemes, you're SOL.

Yep, scheme won't win in the trenches.

The last time I posted something positive about the Cardinals it was to tell you to draft a rookie WR nemed Boldin. Got laughed out of the room then, too.

LOL

that must be a record for a homer not uptalking their team.....

i feel for you man, i really do

i'll kind of argue here that even though they are getting help with new schemes and coach, they still aren't a hugely talented group

Davis is a nice anchor and Brown should come to form soon but other than that i only see them as serviceable guys, not a super talented group

it'll be interesting to see but i still reserve judgement on them till preseason

Good coaching can have a big impact on the offensive line, no doubt. But when it comes to the guys up front, I tend to take a seeing is believing approach because if they are bad, it can absolutly kill you fantasy-wise. Recall McNally, a guy I love as a line coach, was supposed to turn things around in Buffalo. Sometimes it doesn't work out that way.
