mgs316 14 Posted August 1, 2006 Not that Trent is a hot commodity this year, but anyone thinking they might be able to snag him late and use him as a starter better think twice. It just seems like all the circumstances surrounding him says this year will be more like last year, then his previous years. -Herm Edwards, not what I would call a QB guru. -Herm runs a ball control offense. -Roaf is gone, KC passed for 266 with Roaf, 226 without Roaf. -Saunders goes bye, bye. -Trent isn't getting any younger. -Kennison isn't getting any younger. -#2 WR still a big problem. -Gonzalez, last year an abberation or a trend? Will he stay behind to block more now with Roafs absense? Just too many questions this year.
Zap 0 Posted August 1, 2006 He finished 7th in my scoring system last year.
mgs316 14 Posted August 1, 2006 Ranked 13th in mine in a 14 team league. It's TD heavier format.
DBZFan2K 0 Posted August 1, 2006 He finished 7th in my scoring system last year. But last year Dick Vermeil and Al Saunders were running the offense. And his TD's dropped from 27 in 2004 to 17 in 2005. So there is some reason for concern.
football_scooter 0 Posted August 1, 2006 Drafting today, I'd grab him in the 8th-10th rounds if he was there. Not because he's a HUGE steal there, but because he's a damn good QB who won't toss a ton of picks, and who will have some big games for you. Combine that with his history of good healthy and LJ's ability to take a screen for a home run, and TGreen is a good value later round QB. Again, not a 4000/30 guy....but a 3300/20 guy who'll play every game.
De Novo 0 Posted August 1, 2006 Trent Green is gonna be a guy who finishes anywhere from 5th to 20th in points/game. The difference between those is only about 2 per game. If he falls late, grab him but I wouldn't expect him to be the star on your team. He'll keep you in games.
My Negro! 3 Posted August 1, 2006 Too many rushing TDs from KC.
Ace08 11 Posted August 1, 2006 I wouldn't touch Trent Green with a 10 foot pole this year....I have zero confidence in Herm Edwards and his offensive "philosophy". He's Dave Wannstadt reincarnated.....

football_scooter 0 Posted August 1, 2006 Just a few freaking days back you were arguing about how Trent was easily again a shoe in for 4000 yds....my oh my things have changed it wasn't a few days back, it was two months ago, in round 6 or 7 of our draft. My how time flies. And that's why I said "knowing now what we know" - meaning Roaf's ?-able situation. My team's still gonna knock your d!ck in the dirt young man. Bank on that. akaoni 0 Posted August 1, 2006 The combination of Roaf's retirement, and the addition of Herm have certianly soured me on Green. Recently, I read somewhere about Herm talking to trent about decreasing risky passes. You all know what that means, fewer shots down feild, fewer yards, and fewer TDs. I think that Herm just may strangle what was one solid offensive system..
