alecoholics 0 Posted August 4, 2006 I got 8th pick out of 10 teams, in a non keeper league. The league favors RBs(as usual) and should I go RB, RB with picks 8 and 13, or RB WR??
akaoni 0 Posted August 4, 2006 Most likely RB-RB is the best bet if you have a later pick. You could land someone like Rudi, SJax, or maybe even someone better slide to you, then turn around, and grab the best available RB in the 2nd. If you're lucky Caddy or R. Brown, if not so lucky (or drafting with experienced ffballers) you'll have to settle for someone like Westbrook or McGahee. You'll have a decent starting tandem. The downside with this strategy is that you almost certianly won't get one of the top 7 WRs, who should be gone by the time the draft snakes back to you. So if you absolutely want a stud #1 WR, then grab one at 2.3 (C. Johnson, S. Smith, T.O. etc) and then try to get a back like J. Lewis or C. Dillon in the 3rd and hope that their production is better than last year. Generally because of scarcity issues I'll grab the RB first, because there are always productive WRs available in the mid to late rounds. Not so with RBs. Of course if Peyton drops all the way to you at 2.3, I'd think about picking him, but then you have to change gears entirely... Pretty much the standard advice, sorry. Steve-O-328 0 Posted August 4, 2006 with only 10 teams, take RB, RB and then you should still be able to get a top 5 WR with your third pick. Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=218790
enjoi525 0 Posted August 4, 2006 i dont know if youll get top 5 wr in the 3rd unless your extremely lucky. that will be 28 overall maybe a guy like boldin and ward should be there but i dont expect holt, smith, marvin, cj, moss or fitz will be there. larrymcirish 0 Posted August 4, 2006 since good rb's are scarce, i'd go rb, rb for sure & adp & top 300 lists indicate that players like c. chambers, r. wayne, d. jackson, r. williams, santana moss, plax, j. galloway will be available @ #28. #13 could snag r. brown (if you are really lucky), w. mcgahee, b. westbrook, d. davis or j.jones. (davis & jones being injury risks). the only 1 i see @ #28 to be a decent #2 rb is w.dunn & if you don't get him, pickings are mighty slim for a starter. an injury to your #1 could really screw you. rsouth00 0 Posted August 4, 2006 I'd consider RB and WR. Depends on what's left on the board. Go with the best available player. No chance on passing on a high scoring WR for a run of the mill RB that won't put up as many points. Maybe you'll start a run on WR's and be able to pick up someone like C Taylor in the 3rd
cheetah6 0 Posted August 4, 2006 i had the 8th pick i would go RB RB you probably land up w SJAX or Lamont Jordan or even EJAMES as I did in one of my leagues Then load up on WR WR WR - probably get Chamber, Walker, Wayne maybe or even S Moss Then go for the top QB available- go for a Culp or a Bledsoe which might have a high upside and then later in the rounds back it up w a sleeper like Kitna. Good luck!
ullloveit 0 Posted August 5, 2006 No doubt I would go Rb, Rb . Then depending what is there when you draft in the 3rd you may get a player like Fitz, Bolden, Harrison and maybe on the 4th go with Gates if you have to start a TE. There will be plenty of the middle of the road Wr tio fill in your roster. If you luckjy after the first 4 picks have a team like Ronnie Brown Caddy or Rudi, Fitz and Gates. That is a tough squade to beat. Please answer mine http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=219118
