Candikane 0 Posted August 14, 2006 Hey everybody. I'm in a fantasy league with 8 players total, including myself. We're doing a "partial-keeper" league this year and keeping 5 players off our last years team. So far I have: Shaun Alexander Carson Palmer Antonio Gates Steve Smith My question for you is.. With my 5th slot, do I keep Ronnie Brown, or Torry Holt? From all I hear, RBs make more points than WRs.. but Holt is SOO HARD TO DROP!! I was also offered a 3rd round/4th pick for Ronnie Brown.. but keep in mind with an 8 person league and 5 keepers per person.. the 3rd round probably doesn't have much talent left!! IF the call is so close, I can choose Holt and still gain something from Brown in a trade rather than just dropping him.. I'm so confused! Please help! celloshane 0 Posted August 15, 2006 Brown's got no competition for his job now that Williams is out of the picture. He's just shy of top 10 on almost all the boards. Holt is being taken just ahead of him in the drafts, and is likely to get you more points overall. Bottom line; IF you can pick up a second quality back in the draft, then make the trade and keep Holt. If you're going to be scraping the barrel for RBs, then keep Brown and start looking for a WR to pick up. That's the best I can do with with the information you gave. I'm looking for help with mine. What more information do you need? I pick 8th in the first round, 1st in the 2nd, 8th in the 3rd.. etc. -- That's why I'm worried about dropping Brown because I'm not sure how great of an RB I can grab. Here's the Stats on the League's Scoring.. Roster Positions: QB, WR, WR, RB, TE, W/R, W/R, W/R, K, DB, DL, DL, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN Stat Categories: Passing Yards (50 yards per point) Passing Touchdowns (4) Interceptions (-2) Rushing Yards (20 yards per point) Rushing Touchdowns (6) Reception Yards (20 yards per point) Reception Touchdowns (6) Return Touchdowns (6) 2-Point Conversions (2) Fumbles Lost (-2) Offensive Fumble Return TD (6) Field Goals 0-19 Yards (3) Field Goals 20-29 Yards (3) Field Goals 30-39 Yards (3) Field Goals 40-49 Yards (4) Field Goals 50+ Yards (5) Field Goals Missed 0-19 Yards (-3) Field Goals Missed 20-29 Yards (-2) Field Goals Missed 30-39 Yards (-2) Field Goals Missed 40-49 Yards (-1) Field Goals Missed 50+ Yards (0) Point After Attempt Made (1) Point After Attempt Missed (-3) Tackle Solo (1) Tackle Assist (.25) Sack (3) Interception (2) Fumble Force (2) Fumble Recovery (2) Touchdown (6) Safety (2) Pass Defended (1) Block Kick (2) Fractional Points: Yes Negative Points: Yes Does this help a little more? PTAKBuCS 0 Posted August 15, 2006 You HAVE to protect a young RB over an aging WR. Keep Brown, you already have Steve Smith. You can draft another WR to fill Holt's spot.

As long as your league doesnt start 2QBs I would let Palmer go QBs are a dime a dosen in an eight team league. That's a potential 7 QBs down, not including myself. With the 8th draw in the first round, I could set myself up for a really bad QB.
Candikane 0 Posted August 16, 2006 My other concern that I probably should have noted is that we aren't announcing our keepers until 30 mins before drafting, and all will be announced at once. That leaves me with wonder about what RBs will be left. Are talented WRs more widespread and easier to come across than talented RBs? By talented I mean worth even having as a starter. Should I try to trade Holt? What's he worth? Our league does 1-for-1 trading.. meaning you can't trade 2 guys for 1... but you could trade 2 good guys for the 1 great guy and just take a 2nd dumper to make it even (or a draft spot!) Herbivore 1,134 Posted August 16, 2006 I would drop Palmer, and keep Brown and Holt. I think you could have a shot at getting Palmer with your pick. QB should not be an issue in a 8 team league
ALsportsnut 0 Posted August 16, 2006 I agree with dumping your QB. Palmer is not going to be the same Palmer of old. I would keep both Brown and Holt. If anything, bump Gates out of there if you keep Palmer.
