three picks left... K DEF will be two of them

Recommended Posts

my team so far / league scoring system/ etc is in my sig. I've got 3 pick to go. gonna take a starting DEF, Kicker, and a 4th RB with the last picks. question is, what order and who?

only K taken so far is Vinatieri and Shayne Graham, so Rackers, Feeley, etc are still there

all other teams have one DEF, teams left are: Seattle, Denver, Cinci, Atlanta, Miami, Washington... that tier. Don't really see anybody using a bench spot for 2nd DEF.

RB's still available: Maroney (to back up Dillon for me), Thomas Jones, Cedric Benson, Barlow, Ahaman Green...

my plan right now is to take Maroney first... with pick 13.4, then target Rackers/Feeley with 14.7, then Seattle DEF with my last pick 15.4. Any reason to change this plan? Or change my RB choice? The other options are #1 backs on their teams...?

thanks guys, leave me a link and i'll help you out.

you have to get maroney as he will start later on..i like dilon a lot but he wont make it through the season..thomas jones is great as well..then grab a def in last (seattle is great pick)

drop kennison and get a kicker..he wont do anything

after the top few defenses they are all pretty similar so you can always pick up a suitable later or on the ww. i like rackers as a kicker, but with those rb's still on the board i would go with them. handcuffing dillion or going with thomas jones (since looks like he will win the starting job, although that chi rb situation is not fun to mess with) then picking a kicker would probably be my move.

I would definitely take Maroney and get the handcuff on Dillon, very solid backups with the starters you already have. You can always get a kicker and a DEF on the waiver wire, and since everyone already has one, no reason to waste a draft pick on one. Quick question: is your league def/special teams? or just defense? If it's a combo, take Washington without a doubt because they're a tough defensive team just like the others available, but they have Randle El boosting their return game this year, putting them a notch above the rest. Kickers are a wash and its unlikely that Rackers posts similar numbers this year so dont worry if you dont get him, the top 10 kickers are basically the same thing so even getting one off waivers should leave you in solid shape. My advice there would be to grab a proven veteran over someone who just had one big year. Good luck, and solid team so far.

its a DEF team, not a DEF / ST. We award some points for return yardage / TDs to individual offensive players if they happen to return kicks.

the reason i got Kennison is that Wayne + Driver (and branch if he's playing) all have byes week 6. SO, i needed two WR's on the bench to fill in that week. (Evans / Kennison (picked up eddie in round 12 so i'm happy with it. he's had over 1000 yards two seasons in a row...)

:first: Ahaman Green or Maroney first (although the handcuff with Maroney is attractive). Kicker and DEF last (or on the waivers). I agree WAS has a great DEF.

normally, that late in a draft, I'd try to take a chance -- like placing a bet on a guy like cedric benson (top 5 pick) with a lot of talent....

But, I can definitely see handcuffing dillon with maroney and how it makes more sense to lock into a starting running back position.....

take rackers 2nd and finish with the 2nd defense...crapshoot out of what's left

I'd go Maroney, top tier kicker/if not the D here, and then the remainder of a kicker or a D

If Maroney is gone I'd take Thomas Jones as my second choice over Ahman Green.

i think you have to grab a RB right now, either maroney or jones then try to get feely if you can then look to a defense

Tough call, I like Maroney as a handcuff, but it is hard to pass up a possible stud starter in Benson (or could be RBBC) or possible starter in Green

Safest play is to hedge your Dillon pick with Maroney!
