altered_genes 0 Posted August 26, 2006 Hey guys... I know off the bat it seems like a no-brainer in that I SHOULD go for LT with the 2nd overall pick (LJ was someone's keeper...lucky punk!)...however, the allure of having Peyton Manning is becoming irresistable to me. LT is the man..no question about it. He's about as solid a back as you can get...and when you add him to my other two RB's: LaMont Jordan & Willie Parker (we can start up to 3 RBs)...I'd say that makes a pretty formidable Running Back Corps. (week 3 bye will suck, but eh..it's early in the season). If I take LT, I'd still have a shot at some really decent QB's...probably one of the two Jakes...perhaps Trent Green or Bledsoe. But no Peyton, McNabb, Brady, Hasselbeck (who's he throwing to btw?) Without Edge, the RBBC situation in Indy will probably result in Manning throwing the ball more--at least, that's what I'm hearing. I have a feeling he's in store for possibly 30+ TD passes this season with all the usual cast of characters returning. And plus, I've always liked Peyton and for once, I would get to cheer for him...and have fun watching the Colts play. I probably wouldn't get a 3rd solid RB...but I could compensate that with a solid WR pick instead. So, it boils down to having LT (in addition to LaMont Jordan/FWP) + 2 good/serviceable QBs...or ....Manning + 2 decent RBs + 1 good WR. If you were me...who'd you take..and why? (12-team league, 2 QBs REQUIRED, Pass TD: 5 pts , 25 yds: 1 pt.) Thanks, AG p.s. To all those who've graced my threads with your informative answers, I tried to answer yours also, but I can't find my original thread anymore. Sorry! JetsFan28 0 Posted August 26, 2006 Well, I've never played in a 2 QB league, but I would still say you've GOT to get Tomlinson. When you can go into the season starting Tomlinson, Jordan, and Parker, then you've done something right. I never take QB's too early in drafts and it has always worked for me. Good luck. And BTW, why wasn't Tomlinson kept?

You're right...you can't go wrong having those 3 RBs to start off. Besides, I think I'll be in a good position to get a decent QB or WR in rounds 2-3. Anyhow, the way our Keeper Rules work is that anyone drafted within the the first 4 rounds CANNOT be kept because we institute a 4-round Keeper Penalty. This ultimately means that a player drafted in, say, the 8th round will become your 4th round pick in this year's draft. I know you asked the LT question because I said Larry Johnson was kept. This certain owner had drafted Larry Johnson two years ago...in the 14th round (when we were a 10-team league). He kept him last year and it cost him a 9th round pick. He's keeping LJ again..and will cost him a 4th Round pick (48th overall) AND that same owner has the No. 1 overall pick! So he's going to have either Shaun Alexander or LT AND Larry Johnson on the same team! How freakin' sick is that? So, a bunch of owners have already conceded the season to this one owner, but I'm still ready to fight with my crew! I'm not going to give up that easily...although having to go up against 2 of the 3 elite RBs in the NFL is a pretty daunting task. Thanks again dude!
VikingGuy84 0 Posted August 27, 2006 I would say grab LT and don't look back. He's too good to pass up and if you can go every week with that trio...that's awesome. Those three and some average to above average QBs is better than Peyton and only two plus a decent WR. Just my opinion... Eriadoc 4 Posted August 27, 2006 With a two-QB league, Manning could be huge. However, I have to say, take LT and focus on getting two quality QBs in the middle rounds. If you could pull two QBs out of Delhomme, Plummer, Bledsoe, Brees, McNabb, Green, Bulger, or even Vick, you'd be looking great with that RB trio. please see mine - http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=224921
