Kris-styles 0 Posted August 27, 2006 I'm guesssing at least a RBBC in Denver. T. Bell hasn't do anything yet or in the last season. Is the undrafted guy gonna hold his own?????
Striker99 0 Posted August 27, 2006 Uh..mike bell will get 80% of carries
Big_Pete 0 Posted August 27, 2006 I fully expect Mike Bell to get 70-80% of the carries if not more. If he is doing good through week 3 (week 4 is their bye) then I'd say that Mike will be the feature RB only getting carries taken away from him when he's too tired to run. He could be the RBBC killer and restore the 1500+ yard back to Denver! GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who's gonna tailgate at the game with me tomorrow? I'll be the guy driving the blue STi feel free to join me. I'll be there from about 3:30 on
Natural Lights 0 Posted August 27, 2006 Mike Bell has been awesome this pre-season. But two cautions. Shannahan is a rat. Remember Quentin Griffith. He also was awesome the entire pre-season and week one, and then he fumbled away the job to Reuben "I beat my wife" Droughns
Big_Pete 0 Posted August 27, 2006 Remember Quentin Griffith. He also was awesome the entire pre-season and week one, and then he fumbled away the job to Reuben "I beat my wife" Droughns But once Q fumbles, he lost all his confidence and kept fumbling.... Once Mike fumbled, he came back the next game and averaged 7.3 yards and had 2td's playing every other series cause of tatum "I cant break a tackle to save my life" bell. 2 totally different backs, 2 totally different scenarios. Mike Bell in my opinion is the real deal.
Kris-styles 0 Posted August 27, 2006 I agree that the coach is a rat, but T. Bell has proven anything so it should be full steam ahead for Mike Bell.
dogsoldier 0 Posted August 27, 2006 Shanny will give the job to Cedric Cobbs by week 4. Mark it down.
Creepin'Camel-Toe 0 Posted August 27, 2006 Mike will be fine as long as he doesn't wear down like Droughns did. JMHO
jocstrap 8 Posted August 27, 2006 I agree that the coach is a rat, but T. Bell has proven anything so it should be full steam ahead for Mike Bell. He's only proven 5+ yards per carry,900 yards, 8 td's, and a sub 4.4 forty - yea I think he's proven something. Maybe not a 20+ carry per game guy, but to say he hasn't done anything?? Skinny_Bastard 157 Posted August 27, 2006 Why are folks always bashing on Shanny? I can't recall once he shank the world of fantasy football. I remember he stuck with Terrell Davis until his knees can't do it anymore. Portis took over for 2 years. He announced Q. Griffin was the starter and Griffin did well for 2 games before getting hurt. After his injury, he could not reclaim his spot because he had fumbling problems. Last year, Shanny announced Mike Anderson would be the starter and he kept his words. I don't get it? I'm aboout to revise some of my draft strategy and see if i can grab M. Bell in round 4.

Bell, I'm sure he can be great but why do undrafted and 2 - 3rd strings guys seem to step in front of him? Time to put or shut up. Its been too long and he has had too many chance for him to be the featured back. I'll give it to the hard working undrafted rookie before I give him the role. Kris-styles 0 Posted August 27, 2006 Come on, be realistic. Are all 3 of the front running candiates going down during weeks 1 - 3.

I think it's the fact that nobody believes him when he says what he's going to do -- they assume he's just saying that to screw up FFers -- so when he then goes ahead and does what he said he was going to do, it seems like he's being deceptive. Get it?
Big_Pete 0 Posted August 27, 2006 Shanahan is definatly a top 2 or 3 coach in the NFL. I recall only once him lying about injuries that impacted FFers. But I cant recall him ever being deceptive about a starting RB... he always starts who he says he will. It's when there are 2 injuries in the same game and he says "I dont know who i'll start" that you need to worry, cause well, Mike dont lie, he doesn't know who he'll start and before you know it, you got Rube carrying the load when nobody had previously heard of him! wak 0 Posted August 27, 2006 I wouldnt compare Mike Bell to Quentin Griffin. They are completely different backs, and Griffin did not fit the Shanahan mold. Bell is a perfect fit for this offense and the type of back that Shanahan loves. He is a strong runner that makes 1 move and hits the hole hard. He almost always breaks the first tackle and gains positive yardage on every run, unlike the Tatum Bell and Quentin Griffin's of the world. That is why they either lost the #1 RB job at some pt (QGriffin), or have failed to grab it (TBell). Tatum Bell has the home run ability of a Portis in that offense, but unlike CP, he doesnt fight for yardage and he struggles in short yardage situations. I cant imagine him ever being the every down back for Shanahan. I would expect that Cobbs will get the next shot if MBell fails at some pt during the season or gets hurt. I'm telling you, Cobbs is a monster!!! The only reason he's on the bubble to make the team (which I personally think that Dayne has a better chance of getting cut than Cobbs) is because cobbs doesn't look all that impressive in practice because they cant tackle anyone, so they dont see how hard he is to bring down. He isn't as fast as either Bell, so he is kinda burried on the depth chart. But once he is in the game.... LOOK OUT!!! he'll drag the entire defense with him for an extra inch. You cant teach raw determination! I'd almost predict that Tatum will be the #3/change of pace back and M.Bell will be the starter with Cobbs backing him up when he needs a breather. But alas, I cant predict that just yet.
