LT2 for Edge/K. Jones

Sorry for the newbie question.....I joined like two years ago and have ony posted a couple of times.

 

I was offered Tomlinson (and Turner) for Edge and Keving Jones today. I am not crazy about Edge or Jones, and would LOVE to get LT2. However I would have to rely on Mike or Tatum Bell as my second RB. Or Wali Lundy.

 

Basically, are the Bells or Lundy dependable enough to rely on as a second RB to get LT as a number one RB? Is this a no brainer? I like relying on my draft, especially this early, but LT is so tempting. Am I going to go crazy relying on picking the right Denver RB all year?

I'd say to stay away from the Denver RB situation. Who the hell knows whats going on there. Granted you will get LT, but both Bell will be splitting carries, so that should kill thier value somewhat and Wali may have a great year, but as of right now his is unproven.

 

I'd stick with Edge & KJones.

DO IT NOW! LT will out perform both Edge/Jones combined or at least thorwn in one of the Bells and you are just as good and you will have LT.

 

Edge is a big question and he will have weeks where he will not score many points as will Jones. LT can put up huge numbers any given week and since you are getting Turner you are covered in case of injury. It would help to know the rest of your team and scoring format.

My scoring format is very different form anything I have ever seen. I'll just say it is pretty balanced on yards and TDs. No PPR or anything.

 

Here is my squad:

 

QB: Bulger, Delhomme

RB: Edge, K. Jones, Mike Bell, Tatum Bell, Jacobs, Lundy

WR: S. Smith, Chambers, Muhammad

TE: Troupe (weak, I know)

PK: Feely

D: Seattle

Ok, here is what I would do.

 

1st-make the trade for LT

2nd-Go to the D.Davis owner and pair Lundy/and one of your QBs and try to upgrade at QB. If he does not have a good QB try to pair Lundy/Mush and get an upgrade at your 3rd WR position.

 

I am going to assume that your league requires that you have a TE and LJ Smith, R.McMichael and B.Watson are already gone. I guy who I think has potential is E.Conwell in NO. D.Brees is know for throwing to his TE (see A.Gates).

 

3rd-If you can acquire a solid #3 WR the look to trade a team with a weak WR core and a solid QB. Pair your new 3rd WR with one of your QBs and upgrade at QB.

I would do it, LT is too good to pass up. I think Edge and K. Jones are still question marks for this season, LT=instant stud!!!!!!!! Also, go with which ever Denver RB that is starting.

I would do it. LT is too good to pass up. By week two or three you could probably snag someone who was the back up and now becomes the starter due to injury. Someone like a Travis Henry.

Ok, here is what I would do.

Upgrade at QB when he already has Bulger and Delhomme? There's no way to upgrade from that combo unless you could convice P. Manning's owner to part with him. Bulger and Delhomme are both starters in my book, with Bulger being the better option.

 

Take the LT trade. Have faith in Denver's running game. I agree with most posters here that LT + a Bell would be better than Edge + Jones.

Thanks for the advice. I agree about my Qb's. I'd be happy with Delhomme. Having Bulger is an added bonus.

 

I think I am leaning toward making the trade. I don't want to have to deal with the Denver nightmare, but having Lundy possibly as a late round starter helps. I guess LT might outproduce Edge/K.Jones each week, so if I guess the wrong Denver RB I'd still be OK.

 

The problem is I guess it wasn't an offer, but an idea. The other owner is not 100% sure either, but is also leaning toward doing it.

 

Damn, now that I know he isn't sure I really want to do it.
