Prof Dr Hase 0 Posted August 31, 2006 Quick overview. 10 Team league, ppr (only for receivers and TE's, not for RB's) 2 RB and 3 WR to start With the 4th pick I was lucky to get LJohnson, with the 17th LJordan fell to me (don't ask me how) After I secured both LJ's, I added JJones and RDroughns, my only receiver at that point was Plaxico Burress. I dealt Larry Johnson, LJ Smith (another LJ), and Eagles DEfense for TO, JWalker and Bears. Here is my starting 9 vs his QB Aaron Brooks / Carson Palmer RB Jordan / LJohnson RB JJones / CDillon WR TO / Moulds WR JWalker / DGivens WR Burress / BLloyd TE Watson / McMichael K Kasay / Akers Bears / Eagles Why everybody is still so hot on Larry is beyond me. 4th and 26 0 Posted August 31, 2006 Umm Larry Johnson is hands down the number one player in FF. In half a year alone, he became the #2 running back in the NFL. Now double that. Herm Edwards has now brought into KC a new balenced offense which will result in less passing and more touches for Johnson. You screwed up. T.O.'s situation is as usual, iffy at best. Walker is looking good as is Chicago's defense, but it wasnt worth dealing LJ.
HowieWan 0 Posted August 31, 2006 You never give up LJ for a couple of WRs. I think you should have asked for Palmer as well, giving him Brooks in return. TO is going to be huge, though, so your WRs could be great if Burress can ever find the end zone.
star69 5 Posted August 31, 2006 Strange you drafted 2 of the top 5 IMHO TEs you are now riding on Javon Walker and Julius Jones??? and you traded a sure fire stud running back any trade involving TO AND 2 defenses is very weird in a 10 teamer you got Aarron Brooks??? I think you got the lower of the two ends on this deal sorry buddy, hope i'm wrong but i'm not
Prof Dr Hase 0 Posted August 31, 2006 Thanks for the info. IMO, I got LJ as a "present" and unexpected, totally wanting Jordan at No 4. So in fact, given my depths at running, Droughns/Taylor/JJones and Jordan combined with 3 starting WR's in TO/Walker and Burress - I think I will end up in a better situation. A lot of people will look back at the most overhyped No 1 pick (Larry) and realize that without 2 key guys in the O-line, an elderly QB and declining TE - Larry may not be the God he's been made out to be. LT2 and Alexander will post better numbers. IMO. The juice was worse the squeeze! Thanks for the input though.
adam smitty 0 Posted August 31, 2006 Even if LJ is dropping, you still gave up more than you got back.
