Trades for Alexander and Moss

Recommended Posts

Alright, I'm in a 10-team standard scoring league. Passing TD's 4pts and all the others score you 6. Yardage, Defense and kicking are the usual. We start 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 RB/WR, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 D/ST, 1 K.

Post draft, my roster looked like this:

QB- E. Manning

RB- Sjax

Dunn

Foster

Barlow

Jacobs

Staley

WR- Chad Johnson

Plaxico Burress

Roy Williams

Deion Branch

Drew Bennett

Nate Burleson

TE- Alge Crumpler

D/ST- Dolphins

K- Vanderjagt

I signed the Redskins D off waivers, and dropped Staley.

I was pretty happy with my team, but felt that it lacked a true superstar that I could count on week in and week out to carry me to victory. So I made some trades.

I traded Brandon Jacobs to the Tiki owner for Gore.

I traded Roy Williams and Kevan Barlow for Randy Moss

I traded Plaxico Burress, DeShaun Foster and Deion Branch for Shaun Alexander and Rod Smith

Now, obviously SA and Moss are upgrades over the players I traded for them, but my depth that I was so happy to have, is basically gone. These trades have been accepted and I'm just waiting on them to process on September 3rd at about 5 pm. Should I pull these off the table, save the depth, and stick with what I had? Or do I go through with them, lose my depth, and hope I dont need it?

I know this was a lot of reading, but I had to include the important information. Thanks in advance for the help, or for even reading this far.

Leave a link, and I'll gladly get back to yours.

Depth is important if you get hit with the injury bug. I think you'll be fine. Just keep an eye on the FA and maybe pick up some depth there.

Nah. One guy originally wanted Moss for CJ straight up. Which was his mistake for basically letting me know he wanted to get rid of Moss. I wasnt gonna let CJ go for anything basically so I worked him down to Williams and through in Barlow knowing I had the Gore trade going anyway.

As for the other guy, I basically wrote him an email telling him to name his price for Alexander and since he's very weak at WR and I'm guessing is a Panthers fan (team name = Carolina Crushers) he offered up Plax, Foster, and Branch (who i dont even think will play) for Alexander and Smith (who I think is still the top option in Denver). I wrote a reply email acting like it was a tough move for me to make and such but pulled the trigger immediately.

I had some questions about doing it afterwards though, which leads to the explanation of why I'm on here asking for input about it.
