Phurfur 70 Posted September 5, 2006 You are correct sir ,Sorry about that I was thinking of something else. Even makes my example a little better. CHI has one weaknes on D and it is the deep ball against fast recievers. Never will I comapre the talents of Jennings to Steve Smith but if you have seen Jennings run he his a very fast reciever. I have not seen Jennings play but I was under the impression he was fundamentally sound with a knack for getting open. I never heard fast associated with his name. Brett Favre compared him to Antonio Freeman when he was young. Does anyone have his 40 time.
ChesterMarcol 0 Posted September 5, 2006 I'm not trying to be contrarian, nor am I saying it isn't handy to be fast if you're a WR, but on the list of predictors, 40 times are practically at the bottom. Of course there is a minimum that is required but route-running, football IQ, and hands are what make a great reciever. Jennings at THIS point, appears that he may have those 3 along with ADEQUATE speed. Not sure what this means as far as his rookie production, just wanted to remind what most of you already know, 40 times are pretty 'meh...' when it comes to receivers. LOD01 198 Posted September 5, 2006 I beleive 4.4x at the combine. Good enough speed since he has moves that he showed in the last preseason game. Moves that Ferguson couldn't make in his wildest dreams.
