cfly12 0 Posted September 4, 2006 Picking 4th. TD/Yardage league PPR 12 team league. Need help after last yr Who would you take Tiki - 31 years old Jacobs Stephen Jackson- ticky-tack injuries/Stephen Davis Ronnie Brown- 2nd yr wall/ Has not proved himself After first pick who would you target with2-4 picks Thanks
tzillow 0 Posted September 4, 2006 With it being a yardage and ppr league I think Tiki is still a safe pick. He's proven and he shouldn't get banged up too much with Jacobs getting the short yardage carries. Unfortunately, most of those short yardage carries will be near the endzone. How many pts for passing TD's?? Might want to consider Peyton if you get 6 per TD. Only reason is because there are so many question marks surrounding these RBs while Manning will be consistent as ever and has a very easy schedule against the pass. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=227918
cfly12 0 Posted September 4, 2006 Just dont like take a QB with the 4th pic Need a bonafide rb
Gridiron Mafia 1 Posted September 4, 2006 It would be a huge mistake to pass on Tiki. Jacobs may steal TD carries but in a PPR league he is a huge stud. In my league Manning went 4th
groovy gravy 0 Posted September 4, 2006 Go with the proven back, Tiki, especially in a PPR league. I would probably go Tiki even if it wasn't PPR.
MacAir747 0 Posted September 4, 2006 Definitely Tiki, he's 31 but he's a young 31. He'll catch a lot of passes and get his yardage.
thegreatone3 0 Posted September 4, 2006 Thanks for seeing mine (though your link didn't work). Tiki is your man at #4. I would maybe consider guys like Brown or Jackson, but in a PPR league it is a no-brainer. Do try to lock-up Jacobs as a hand-cuff in the later rounds. In my non-PPR league, Manning went at #4. mobb_deep 920 Posted September 4, 2006 It would be a huge mistake to pass on Tiki. Jacobs may steal TD carries but in a PPR league he is a huge stud. In my league Manning went 4th I agree. In a PPR Tiki is the clearcut choice. Jacobs was stealing GL's last year too and Tiki did fine. SJax has upside but he has weak knee's and that Ram astro turf is murder. In a redraft (especially PPR) I think Tiki is the clearcut pick mine if you got a second
J-Money 4 Posted September 5, 2006 i've never played in a ppr league, but i agree with the tiki supporters. I wouldn't want tiki in a regular league (I'm one of those guys who thinks every year is his declining year, but i'm always proved wrong) but he always gets a ton of combined ydg (meaning he gets significant receptions as well). He may lose some goal line tds, but should make up those points catching the ball out of the backfield. As for who you should target in the 2nd-4th round, that depends entirely on how the rest of the draft goes. If there's 1 rb there at your #2 pick who's obviously a tier or 3 above the guys available, you take him, if they are all relatively the same, take your highest rated wr or manning if he's available. use the same strategy going down the draft (unless you go rb/wr/wr like me, you probably don't want a third wr before you take your 2nd rb). Good luck
Free Willis 0 Posted September 5, 2006 Stick with Tiki. He will continue to get touches and always has a chance to get a big play. It is hard to say what to do in the other rounds, depends on how they play out. My key is to not panic and take a player at a position just because there is a run on that position. Typically, there may be a higher ranked player available at the other positions.
zoolndr74 0 Posted September 5, 2006 Tiki is the safe pick, he'll perform. Ronnie Brown has more upside though I think. It's up to you to decide whether you want to go safe or take a chance.
