Will Troy Williamson step up?

Recommended Posts

This guy has blazing speed 4.30-4.40 in the 40 time. No more K-Rob and with an average set of WR's(Travis Taylor, M-Rob, Todd Pinkston), is this a breakout year for Troy?

I highly doubt it and I'm a Vikings homer. I just don't see this guy as a #1 WR. He's way too inconsistent.

The only player that I could see producing in the Vikings offense is Chester Taylor. I still believe that teams will stack the line against him and test Brad Johnson, so I doubt he will put up great numbers either.

I would like to believe that Williamson will break out this year. Johnson is accurate and they should be behind and need to pass a fair amount. On the negative side though, Williamson has yet to be consistent and I would be more ocmfortable with him if he wasn't being relied upon as the #1 WR.

I hope the head coaching change with Childress has some postive impact on his game. With that speed, a few home run balls this year may be coming.

Don't count on the Vikings to be playing from behind very often. Even if they are behind, it won't be far behind like down by 14 or anything where they need to air it out. I expect a lot of close games for the Vikes this year. Their Def is playing much better than in recent years and all those early draft picks of the Tice era are starting to play well. I don't expect to see the Purple People Eaters out there, but they'll be a top 15 Def this year, NFL wise. If the offense can manage to stay in the top 20, they could have a much better year than people expect. They won 9 games last year, and havent' taken any steps backward in personel. I expect 10 wins from them this year, all in close games.

As for Troy. If he learns how to catch the deep ball well, he could manage 1100, 9. If not I expect to see about 800, 5 from him. Marcus Robinson will catch more TD's than Williamson because of his red zone leaping ability. Any TD's that Troy gets will be deep throws or long runs after the catch with that blazing speed he has.

Look guys johnson can run an offence. Did it last year when Cpep was hurt. I'm looking for him to get somewhere in the range of 1200 and 7 TD's. Who thinks I'm off my rocker? He's their no.1 with little or no running game. Granted they might double team him but I still think that the safety looks to Robinson for the big play. Williamson just might have his #rd year breakout in year 2.
