The Hunter

with alexander out, i must trade...

Recommended Posts

i've just been hit with the oss of shaun alexander for a few weeks, and am currently lacking in terms of running back depth.

rb - shaun alexander, clinton portis, ladell betts, maurice morris, jerious norwood, brandon jacobs

wr - darrell jackson, t.j. houshmandzadeh, joey galloway, jerricho cotchery

i was testing the waters to see if i could get a marginal running back at a reasonable price to tide my team over until shaun could return

i was offered a deal that i don't particularly like, but could help my team in the short run. am i crazy for even considering the following:

ahman green and lavernaeus coles for darrell jackson and t.j. houshmandzadeh

team 1's rbs - cadillac williams, ahman green, kevan barlow, samkon gado, mike bell

team 1's wrs - reggie wayne, roy williams, laveranues coles, deion branch, ernest wilford

also, another deal that has been offered to me from team 2:

lamont jordan and maybe travis henry for t.j. houshmadzadeh

team 2' rbs - chester taylor, fred taylor, lamont jordan, mewelde moore, travis henry, chris brown

team 2's wrs - larry fitzgerland, reggie brown, troy williamson, bernard berrian

which deal, if any, should i consider?

I do not like any of those deals. Do not give up DJax and Hush for Ahman Green. Also Lamont is not going to do anything with the line that the raiders have

I disagree with the other guys. I think Jordan is a great buy low canidate. I would offer the guy Housh for Jordan & Reggie Brown.

But you will need a WR in return if you give up Housh b/c who knows what Galloway will do with a new QB.

I wouldn't do that especially since Reggie Brown is still having some lingering problems and status is somewhat uncertain for next week. For the original proposals I'd say no to both. Djax and Housh are solid players and none of what you are getting compares right now. Plus, Alexander's status is unclear and it may only be a few weeks.

Walk away, you have Morris to fill in for SA - that is why you drafted him (or picked up). It doesn't do you any good to take a roster spot on a handcuff if you don't play him.

Thanks for mine.

I agree with the others, I don't like either of these deals. You don't need to make either one. You have stength at WR, and if you trade those guys awat, now you are mediocre at both WR and RB. You WRs should be able to keep you afloat until SA returns. Until then play the matchups.

Thanks for answering mine.

You don't need to trade anyone -- SA's injury is just for a few weeks, and your depth at RB is fine. I would just ride it out and hold onto D.J. and Housh.
