I am having injury and bye issues in my WR corps and this week and it's a division game.

It would depend on who you have at TE. If Shockey would be a significant upgrade, do it.

I actually just grabbed Plax off someone this week. I think his value has taken a hit but he seems determined to make up for the game in SEA and prove he is the man. Just can't ignore a guy with that talent and physical presence. I admit, he's a gamble but with Shockey's chronic injuries and inconsistent play, I'd be weary of making this trade. Matt Jones doesn't jump out at me either, with Reg. Williams and Wilford, Leftwich has too many other viable options that IMO are nearly equally talented as Jones.

I wouldn't do it unless your TE situation is horrible - not that Shockey has been doing much anyway. Matt Jones has had hamtsring isues and Reggie Williams seems to be Leftwitch's favorite target on top of that JAx' offense has been putrid. Plax will get his touches and TDs even withthe spacing out.

Assuming you start 3 wr's and your te is not good, I still don't know if I would do this. I like Shockey but Jones has really done nothing. Williamson has been impressive but he has also been hurt and plays in a run first offense. I think you wait and sell high on Burress if you want to move him. I would actually look at moving Boldin if you want to move someone with the question marks at qb. I suggest keeping what you have for now.

If you have Plax I wouldn't do it. Despite what happend last week, Plax is still the go to guy plus Jones has a lil bit of the injury bug.

IMO, it really depends on your TE. But it seems that there are so many decent TE to choose from this year. So I have to say that you dont do this trade. Giants get down so early in the game and Eli has been throwing like a maniac lately. Matt Jone has to compete against Wilford and R. Williams. Burres is not really competing with A. toomer.. they are more of a complementary players.

 

Dont do it.. Burres is a stud

TE's are the same as WR's. I'm in a jam because I have Stallworth and am 0-3. I can't afford to go down 0-4 so would I do this trade to get me through? I like my other WR's, and do think Matt Jones' better days are ahead.

keep Plax, in an interview he owned up to his mistakes (a bit of a change for him, usually just whines) and wants to go out and show that he is not the guy who turned over the ball against Sea.

I'm in the majority too. I wouldn't do this. Jones isn't gonna bring a ton to the table for you at WR and you aren't real deep there to begin with. Surely you can find TE help on waivers w/o giving up one of your better receivers. Trade high, and trade from your deepest positions. You aren't that loaded at WR to be giving up someone as talented as Plax.

I think Burress' stock is going to go up soon so I would wait it out at least until you see him play after the bye week

That's tough. I woud probably recommend you do the trade because I think Jones and Shockey together are more valuable than Burress IMO. You mentioned injury problems, however, and you'd be bringing in two guys who already have injury issues. For that reason I would stick with Burress who is at least healthy. Plus the chances of Shockey putting up big numbers are right there with Burress, depending on what defense they play.
