Kopy 559 Posted October 4, 2006 Is his numbers just a product of a new system? Was last year, a 1 year wonder. I have a big roster to keep him stashed away and save him for next year. But I was wondering if it was just hopeless to hang onto the guy.
hotgumbo1 12 Posted October 4, 2006 i think this season is a wash for the WR reserves. the new system has the likes of looker, curtis and mcdonald with virtually no play. i had curtis as a backup to holt but dropped curtis to make room. the good thing is that holt will still receive the majority of looks as evident by the first 4 games. glad i took him. Sho Nuff 720 Posted October 4, 2006 I think alot of it was due to Bruce being dinged up and ineffective early last year...this year Bruce has stepped back up and is again a great compliment to Holt...
Cuse9 129 Posted October 4, 2006 Last year in Miami Linehan emphasized if you have playmakers you use them. Saban let Linehan have more control of the offense and that's when Chambers numbers really went up. So, now in St. Louis he has Holt and Bruce. Although Curtis is a good wr, he's not in the class with Bruce or Holt and with Linehans thought process he thinks the more you get the ball into your "studs" hands the better chance you have of winning.....which I agree with. Now I would think Curtis would have more catches than he has.....but I knew going into the season that Curtis had little value barring an injury to Holt/Bruce based on Linehan's offensive thinking. Curtis is a guy to sit on in case of injury...nothing more.
