saiamne 0 Posted October 6, 2006 I'm strong at WR (S. Smith, T. Holt, S. Moss, K. Johnson) Weak at RB (W. Dunn, C. Williams, R. Bush) Being offered Kevin Jones for Santana Moss Why take it: I'm not really convinced Moss is going to be all that great for FF scoring this year. Yes, last week he had a great game. Yes he's talented. But he's just not really getting much to work with...averaging 4 Rec per week, and until this past week he was averaging less than 60 yds per game, and no TD's...so, I'm sort of thinking sell high. Kevin Jones has been getting consistant production...15+ carries per game, 5+ rec per game...combined yardage is averaging almost 100 yds per game, and he's got a couple TD's in there as well (plus my league gets pts per Rec) Then there's schedule, he's done well even against competant Defenses, and the rest of Det's schedule really isn't *that* tough (Buf, NYJ, Atl, SFO, Ari, Mia, NE, GB, Chi, Dal) Defensively. Washington's schedule isn't horrible, but it's a bit worse than Det. Each one of my Receivers is averaging more points per game than all my RB's combined...every week (Bush *would* be the exception, except I picked him up in wk 4 and he had a poor game) *IF* I pick up Jones, I was thinking about dropping Cadillac Williams (poor team, poor health, no QB to lead, 2nd string Off Line) and picking up another WR off the wire or trash trade...couple worth considering as a #4 WR out there: M. Muhammad - plenty of looks/rec even if Berrian has gotten the TDs so far, wk 7 difficult (see Bruce) D. Jackson - lukewarm feelings about Jackson just because Sea is spreading Rec around so much I. Bruce - decent performer but aging, and my wk 7 bye schedule is already a nightmare (NO, Chi, StL out) B. Edwards - it's the Browns... M. Furrey - It's the Lions...but he's popular with Martz and Kitna...and again, not a bad schedule ahead
Football Fan 20 2 Posted October 6, 2006 Take it and run. S.Moss is so inconsistant its sad. Detroit is awful, but Jones gets alot of touches, running and catching, Moss will have those breakout weeks, but he'll have those 1 catch nights too. If you drop Caddy pick up Bruce, passing a lot in STL. Good luck check mine http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=241362
Sux2butoo 0 Posted October 6, 2006 I would have to agree, if you can get K. jones get him. You will not be sorry because Moss is great now but he will NEVER again get the chance to win like that. You need a RB who can deliver and this trade could give you one. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=241346
Illini4evr 0 Posted October 6, 2006 I do recommend picking up KJ to improve your RB situation. Moss is expendable considering your other WR. I'm not so sure about dropping Caddy. I'm not sure of your roster rules but I do believe things for Caddy will pick up later in the season and if you can start three RB's that may prove useful. If not, then you have a back to cover byes, another WR is really not needed.
gram 0 Posted October 6, 2006 i think i would definately go after k.jones...but i agree with the previous comment...cadi will be back up. just be patient
VaTerp 0 Posted October 6, 2006 Redskin Homer and I would take K. Jones for Moss in a heartbeat in terms of FF. Moss is a bonafide playmaker but he will be inconistent fantasy wise. Plus you are more than adequate at WR. Also, I wouldnt drop Caddy. Sounds like your league doesnt allow for a lot of bench depth but just about any starting RB is worth somethin in almost any FF format. Let alone one with Caddy's ability. I was never high on Caddy's FF value this year but I wouldnt flat out drop him. Try to move him in a trade or keep him on your bench for spot starts. Not worth dumping him for a 3rd WR. saiamne 0 Posted October 6, 2006 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 Flex (RB/WR) with Colston as a WR/TE (therefore avail for flex position as well) I don't really need a coverage 3rd RB...I really only need 2 1/2 RB's...I've been playing WRs in the position for the most part, but I have a backup TE (Shockley) so I can always move up Colston to W/R to cover for RB3 The only reason I'm thinking about dropping Caddy is because our league does Pts Per Rec, so just putting a 6+ rec per game rec with say 60yds in that slot pretty much guarantees me 10+pts for W/R where I'd only ever USE Caddy with Jones in my lineup...and so far this year expecting 10pts out of williams is a real stretch... I want to keep Bush for my Utility/backup RB, keep Dunn/Jones as feature backs, and probably keep playing out WR's for 2xWR and 1xW/R Keyshawn Johnson makes a fine #3, but I'd like more depth to cover Carolina's Bye week, especially since I'll be down a Kicker that week unless I drop Rackers (looking more and more likely...I really expected Ari to be kicking more FGs)
drmidd 2 Posted October 6, 2006 Id go ahead and do it. You dont have to worry about your Wrs without him. RBs are more important
