whahaa 0 Posted October 6, 2006 it's time to play everyone's favorite game again: PICK 3 WRs! here's what's on my plate... Santana Moss [vs NYG] upside: can bust out for a big play at any time, after last week he's the #1 WR in my league, going up against a horrible pass defense at the giants. downside: if you don't count last week, his avg would be 63/ypg and zero TDs Greg Jennings [vs STL] upside: averaging 85/ypg when you don't count week 1, seems to be the new go-to guy in green bay whether driver is healthy or not, plus this week driver isn't looking very healthy... also, doesn't constantly drop passes like double-d does. downside: favre is a bit banged up this week, defenses might start catching on to the jennings threat finally. Anquan Boldin [vs KC] upside: warner is riding the pine, if there ever was a rookie qb who would know how to get the ball to his talented WRs, leinart would be that guy... i think, plus, if i remember correctly, leinart seemed to favor boldin over fitz in the preseason. downside: rookie qb under center means who-the-hell-knows, KC is somehow doing incredible against the pass this season. Isaac Bruce [vs GB] upside: for an old man, averaging 80/ypg ain't half bad. caught a season-high 7 for 100 last week plus a TD, going up against the atrocious GB pass defense. downside: he's OLD, only 1 TD on the season so far. Doug Gabriel [vs MIA] upside: started 2 out of the 4 games this season and averaged 60yds and got TDs in both, gets the check-down for sure in the endzone, tom brady keeps telling the media how much he loves throwing to this dude and how he wants to throw to him more, miami sucks, a lot. downside: miami sucks, so the pats might be getting up early and running the ball the rest of the game, and 60/ypg, with only a two game sample, ain't really that great when you take away the TDs. that's the situation this week, friends... go nuts. oh and, please, if it's not too much trouble, give some reasons behind your reasoning, even if it's just 'my gut tells me...' leave a link and, as always, i'll help you with yours. whahaa! RedzoneMonster 107 Posted October 6, 2006 I never thought I'd say bench Boldin, but I'd go Moss, Jennings, and Bruce. All 3 are pretty safe bets to put up pts. Boldin = too risky w/ rookie qb making 1st start. Wait a wk or 2 to see. Moss = game looks to be a SHOOTOUT! Bruce = HORRID GB defensive backfield. Looks to be a shootout as well. Jennings = GB will HAVE to throw to keep up with STL. Answer mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=241505
ART MONK 4 HOF! 0 Posted October 6, 2006 Moss, Jennings, and Bruce definitely. Boldin faces a pretty good D with a rookie throwing him the ball. NYG's secondary hasn't looked good, so moss should get his. jennings seems to get a lot of touches for a rookie, and at home vs. a so-so D (and good O) in the rams, GB is bound to throw to him a lot. and in the same game, GB cant stop anyone, so if they try to double Holt, or put their "best" guy on him, Bruce should be open. please: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=241513
ramblin'wreck 0 Posted October 6, 2006 Moss - did you see the Giants' D allowed 5 TD passes from Hasselbeck the other week? Jennings - Driver is not 100% and Jennings will be thrown at more. And did I mention that GB will be playing from behind a lot this game? Gabriel - Brady's new go-to guy and he plays against a horrid MIA D. Thanks for helping with mine. runnerxc 0 Posted October 6, 2006 That's a tough one but i'd go Gabriel, Jennings, Moss I'd stay away from Boldin with Leinart throwing him the ball. I think he'll get be on his back most of the game anyway.
RazorSmart 0 Posted October 6, 2006 I'd go with Moss, Jennings, and Gabriel. Moss - Their playing NYG, horrible secondary. Jennnigs - #1 target for Farve who will be forced to throw alot. Gabriel - Brady's new favorite target playing again MIA... lots of point possibilities. Nomad99 741 Posted October 6, 2006 Moss, jennings & bruce....for your same upside reasons........Gabriel is still a ?? as brady spreads the wealth & Boldin is in the same boat as Fitz.......how will the rook do??? Thanks for mine
thomps1 0 Posted October 6, 2006 I would go with moss, jennings and bruce. I hate to not pick boldin but with the QB situation and KC defense I would roll my dice with the others.
cdgwinn 0 Posted October 6, 2006 I like Moss, Jennings, and Gabriel.. Moss becuase its going to be a hight scoring game. Jennings because he is the only reciever in GB, upside and downside I guess. Tom Brady has liked throwing to Gabriel, and as you put it MIAMI Sucks!
