Need help with a trade proposal

Steve Smith; Bernard Berrian; Javon Walker; Matt Jones; Greg Jennings

Todd Heap; Dallas Clark

Cowboys; Panthers

Vinatieri; Rian Lindell

 

He has:

Favre; Green; Lossman

Fred Taylor; L. Tomlinson; Reuben Droughns; Cedirc Benson; Samkon Gado; Leon Washington

Hines Ward; Larry Fitzgerald; Eddie Kennison;

Jeremy Shockey; Eric Johnson

Jaguars

My, somewhat obvious problem is at RB. I have dogs... On paper, in looking ahead to future matchups, it looks like my RB situation is going to start killing me (like it hasn't already).

 

I was thinking about proposing a trade with another (obviously) team owner and so went looking for someone who was STRONG there... Lo and behold I found someone who is thin at WR (especially with Fitz down for a few weeks)...

 

Match made in heaven?

 

Do you think that I could get him to part with either Taylor or Tomlinson for say Berrian or Smith?

Would any of you make that trade in my position?

Would you laugh out Loud if you were him and received such a trade proposal?

Would I need to sweeten the deal on my end?

 

If it helps to know, we are both 2w-3l and neither of us has a favorable matchup this weekend the way our teams stand now.

I wouldn't go giving away S Smith b/c I don't think the owner would part w/ LT2 and that's what it would take. However, maybe a package deal of Berrian and Gennings for Fred Taylor could help you out. You are extremely thin in the rb department though.

...you may want to think about a Smith for Tomlinson straight up trade

 

...you would still have Berrian and Jennings(who BOTH look like they are going to be the big fantasy surprises this year, I think their roles will only get bigger now that they have their QBs faith) as well as Walker who is pretty consistent...

 

plus you may be able to find WR help on the F/A wire depending on matchups

i think he'd be insane to give away LT2 for any 1 of those WRs. you could try to get taylor (you'd probably have to sweeten that deal a little too though). the problem i see is that while he has a lot of RB's, he doesn't have GOOD depth there, so probably would be hesitant to give away one of the top 2. but i'd target either taylor or Droughns (give less for Droughns).

Berrian is at his peak. I just offered someone in my league Harrison for J. Jones and he came back asking for Berrian over Harrison. I understand Harrison is on a bye week, but still. That seems crazy to me. I made the trade. Maybe you can get Taylor for Berrian straight up. I can't see the other guy giving up LT2 for any combo of players (unless you work in Brady maybe) since none of his other RBs are locks.

Don't think he would give up LT. I would offer Berrian, or Walker for Taylor. i think that would be a good starting point. You would still have a solid WR corp, and a bit of an upgrade at RB.
