just_want_2_win 0 Posted October 14, 2006 I traded Boldin, Foster, and Jordan for S. Jackson of the Rams and K. Winslow. Trade was objected to by four other owners. I don't think this was an unfair or underhanded trade by any means. What do you think? Am I wrong or are these guys just jerks? No one will make trades unless you give them Tiki for Michael Clayton, I finally get someone to agree to one, and then 4 objections.
kcjoker 0 Posted October 14, 2006 i don't see the objection. i think boldin will have a decent year, and lamont jordan is doing alright as well. screw em. they're just mad they didn't have anything you wanted

ramblin'wreck 0 Posted October 14, 2006 Well, I can see a slight edge given Jordan is not doing anything so far, but the trade is by no mean one-sided. Should not have been veto'ed. Thanks for mine.
cmac13 0 Posted October 14, 2006 Fair trade if you ask me. Jackson is best player in the trade, but I'd rather have Boldin/Foster actually.
just_want_2_win 0 Posted October 17, 2006 Can you believe this? This trade received 6 objections -- I thought out of pettiness. I thought at least the commissioner would approve BUT it was rejected by the commissioner. My league is a CBS run league so the commissioner is CBS SportsLine. I think this is a crock. I can see how some people might think that trading Boldin and Foster wasn't a splendid move given their schedules coming up but I was getting a top RB in return and would've been able to use for week 7. Everyone is celebrating saying it would've made the league uncompetitive. Give me a break I am 2-4 and so is the team that made the trade with me. Stupid. And I can't even appeal. I half want to quit.
jbogli 0 Posted October 17, 2006 Wait was this trade objected to because of what you were giving or getting. I think whoever is getting Jackson and Winslow are making out on paper and that is the problem. Winslow is the #1 TE and Jackson is close if not top 5 RB. But if you really dig into this trade, Boldin is going to be targeted like 50 millions times a game if Fitz is out. Foster has now come on with Steve Smith back in the lineup and produced nice #'s the last two weeks. I think Jordan is the hook here. He has been crappy but is a #1(unquestioned) even on a terrible team. I think he will still have some pretty good games. With this being said you should talk with everyone and find out why the trade is being rejected. I tend to lean towards the guy getting three hear has the advantage even though if you quickly look you would say the guy getting Jackson and KW is stealing. In the end it is all about needs. I traded Steve Smith and Bledsoe for hassleback and people told me I was giving up too much but all i know now is i am back to 3-3 and was 1-3 Try and talk it out. Don't quit. hang in there and find a way to make the trade work. Figure out what people are objecting to and fix it. then they can't veto.
just_want_2_win 0 Posted October 17, 2006 Thanks for the pep talk. I was getting Jackson and Winslow. My roster without the trade: QBs: Bulger, Kitna RBs: Tiki, Foster, Jordan, M. Barber WRs: Boldin, Evans, Keyshawn, Colston, Jennings TE: Des Clark K: Akers D: Panthers Other guy's team: QBs: Bledsoe, A. Smith RBs: Gore, Jackson, Jones-Drew, Rhodes WRs; Owens, CJ, Cotchery TEs: Witten, Winslow K: Stover D: Ravens, Giants My team started 0-3 I've been working OT to improve. I made similar offers to FOUR other teams and just went with the one who accepted. I'm only 2-4 and so is he. Everyone is more or less bunched up aside from one 6-0 team. I asked people why they objected they're just bragging they stopped the trade. What really irks me is that CBS vetoed it.
resser2 0 Posted October 17, 2006 I asked people why they objected they're just bragging they stopped the trade. What really irks me is that CBS vetoed it. Why CBS vetoed it? 2 players for 3 players?
redshirtrookie 0 Posted October 17, 2006 i'll say it again, unless its completely lopsided, i see no reason EVER to veto a trade. those guys are either: 1. jealous 2. scared cause their teams are shitty.
just_want_2_win 0 Posted October 17, 2006 I feel you never object to a trade unless it's very lopsided or obviously collusion is involved. These guys just vetoed to keep either team from improving; I can't feel it's otherwise a few admit to that and the others won't say. What's amazing is that CBS SportsLine, as Commissioner, upheld those objections and vetoed the trade. I am done with CBS, that's for sure, and with most of these jerks in my league. On here there are knowledgable FF players and no one yet on here has said the trade was deserving of objections or of the comish denying.
mrgymrat 0 Posted October 18, 2006 Certainly looks fair 2 me... people will kill a deal just because they're not getting in on it. Don't get pissed cuz that's just how people are. GET EVEN by making the deal work. Perhaps break it into 2 deals and maybe make it a 3 for 3 deal to balance it out. Try Foster & Jordan for S Jax. Then try Boldin for Winslow straightup. There has to be a combination that will get approved. Keep doing the deal and taking up people's time. Eventually they will get tired of objecting and it will go thru. Also talk some trash on the message board reminding them that whenever they need a deal done, it will get vetoed for no "real" reason. Been there, done that. GOOD LUCK.... B RELENTLESS AND GET YOUR WAY!!!!
