Roethlisberger vows revenge on Falcons players that taunted him

Recommended Posts

this man suffered a serious head injury and his career revolves around playing a contact sport. when will he truly have an opportunity to get better if his head is smacked around every 5 minutes? she works in the medical field....and i do not know what it is that you do for a living mr. 1974...so i will put my trust in what she says.

74 has nothing to do with the year 1974, not that it would matter anyway if it did. It could be the year I graduated from Medical school, it could be how many times you rewinded and watched the Ben hit. Why someone would do this I have no idea?

It's the internet, would you believe what I told you I did for a living? Do I believe you have a "friend" in the medical field? Why would I even care what your "friend" who has never even come close to seeing Ben's medical records says. She has no more expertise on Ben's situation than I do. Cause each case is extremely unique.

Of course the Falcons would deny saying they wanted to smack him in the face. Of course local talk radio would stick up for the Falcons.

Have you digitally enhanced the sound during the play yet to see if you could hear the smack talk during the game? Cause being the $35K video nerd you are, I imagine you are working on it. And that is the only way to know for sure if anyone said anything.

Why do you care so much?

to make matters worse.....

your thread title is wrong:

Roethlisberger vows revenge on Falcons players that taunted him

as he lay injured

nobody did that as he lay injured...you added that!

cause this is the original title:

Big Ben says Falcons player taunted him

did YOU NOT SAY THIS?

I got it based on what the story said.

He also won't forget the crude comment made by one of the three Atlanta Falcons players who, while sacking him Sunday, apparently taunted Roethlisberger by saying he wanted to hit him in his surgically repaired face.

Seemed to me it happened then.

Even if it didn't, at least you now acknowledge it could have happened. That's good. We're making progress, and much better than your delusional belief that Ben dreamt it all up.

Was he not concussed on the play? Yes he was.

Your man love for Ben and the Falcons is now disturbing. But at least you have now acknowledged that it could have happened. Again, we're making progress here. That's the good news.

I have to admit, in that Indy-Steelers game the blown Interception call was the worst call of post season. I actually started wondering at that point if the NFL was going to turn into the NBA!!!

Tangent ON

It almost seems that Peyton and the Colts are the NFL's darling team. How the hell did they get the schedule they did this year after their record last year, When Houston got a much worse schedule.

Boy , would'nt the NFL love to see a Giants-Indy Suporbowl!! Imagine the hype!!!

He's put himself in a bad spot. Either he's arguing that Ben dreamt it all up, or that the Falcons are puzzies and don't talk trash during games

by the way - not to nitpick, but I don't see where it says, "vows revenge" anywhere in the article. I see it says he won't forget, but I don't see anything saying he's vowing revenge. wataf?

Why bother to "remember his number" if he doesn't plan on doing something in retaliation, or at least about it? Or do you think that Ben is just talking tough because he got knocked out and taunted? You think he has to save face somehow?

so he was concussed and he heard it happen at the same time?

why does ben need all of these fictional accounts (death fever; bad toe) and mythology to aid his cause? why can't he just suit up and play like the rest of 'em?

that falcons player could not have said that entire "I am gonna mess up your surgically repaird face" sentence in the 1 second time frame that he made physical contact with ben.

DID HE HEAR WHAT THE DRIVER OF THAT CAR WAS SAYING TOO?

Quite the contrary.

Ahhh, finally we have gotten to the root of your argument. You think Ben is a crybaby b|tch and just made it all up to poke fun at the Falcons players, and to make them look like meanies. And Ben needs drama to make himself seem tougher. I mean after all, you get knocked out of the game you better do something to seem tough, right?

So he vows revenge and says that people were intentionally trying to hurt him, that's why he got knocked out.

Took a while, but we finally got to what you were trying to say. Didn't take to long, did it?

no i heard that ben intentionally got himself knocked out of the game, and diagnosed with a concussion, so that he can have a legit excuse to end his football career.

and that will finally give him a chance to persue what he was really put on this earth to do....

become head of the UN after that asian guy steps down after taking over for kofi....

and ben can bring peace to all of the creatures in the universe...both great and small...

:dunno:

thanks for playing...........and adding to the myth!

I thought that he was knocked out on the turf. Wouldn't team members start a fight if they heard something like that come out of the mouth of their opponents if their franchise lay on the ground? but no, they did not.

So are the steelers soft now?

:o

let's look at some facts:

The Play

A. The ball was snapped to ben with 5 seconds left on the play clock. The play lasted for a duration of 3 seconds from snap to hit/incompletion to hines ward (who swatted angrily at the turf).

B. The camera cut back to ben on the turf at 7 AFTER THE PLAY STARTED. At that time there were shots of legs on the field. one of them appeared to belong to a ref (striped socks), one appeared to belong to a steelers' lineman (black topped socks;the falcons wore red tops) and another leg walked into the shot (looked like another steelers' player leg) late before they cutaway to a replay.

The Hit

A. From the time when there were 3 falcons defenders within 1-2 yards of ben (who were being blocked or not being blocked into him) only 1 second came off of the clock.

B. While ben was taking his first of 3 hits, (2 falcons defenders from the front and right side) another falcons defender (#59) shows up and invades ben's personal space at the 3 second mark.

*************************

So, also, did the falcons defensive linemen really say those things? And if so when?

a. While the play was developing (2 second duration from snap to planting in the pocket; with georgia dome crowd noise factored in)

b. While the hit was in progress (1 second duration from plant to hit; with georgia dome crown noise factored in)

c. Or is ben really just able to hear other players' thoughts like that cop on heroes

Actually, there was a Second Sacker who shouted the mean words from the grassy knoll.

get used to it.

Why bother to "remember his number" if he doesn't plan on doing something in retaliation, or at least about it? Or do you think that Ben is just talking tough because he got knocked out and taunted? You think he has to save face somehow?

If he wanted to "save face" he shoulda worn a motorcycle helmet.

zing!

So he vows revenge and says that people were intentionally trying to hurt him, that's why he got knocked out.

uhm, except that he didn't actually, you know, "vow revenge". He never said those words. In fact he never said "vow" or "revenge" even seperately.

Yet here you are spreading misinformation again. You make a nice case to speculate that he meant that he'd "vow revenge" because he said he'd "remember" them. Hell, after that hit I'm pretty impressed he remembers anything. He must've thought he was on his motorbike all over again.

"I am Batman!....To the Batcave!!"

Come on D'homer - you're usually better than this. Ben said nothing even resembling "vowing revenge" so let it go already. It's clearly misleading.

hey, bradshaw brain...

i am saying that it did not happen ON THAT PLAY.....like how YOU DREMPT it up.

and i also said that the steelers players have gone soft if they allowed that to happen.

:D

next offseason...the owners should vote on a new "no trash talking by defensive linemen while a play is in progress" penalty.....so that they can defend other players that have a fragile psyche....like "big bend" rothlissberger.
