Problem with Best Buy Restocking Fee

Recommended Posts

Guest Davaco
Best buy also has good warranty programs, they'll replace any item without question if defective as long as you purchase the warranty. Walmart doesn't have that. Best buy doesn't exactly have the best prices, but I did get my 52" DLP there on clearance pretty cheap. (Got almost $1000 off the floor model).

you can buy warraties at walmart, or at least walmart online, and they are better than BB cause they start after the maufactuers warranty, not from the purchase date.

plus, the amount of hoops you will jump through to actually meet the requirements of the BB warranty is a joke and it costs more than the wal mart warranty

You know, I'm OK w/a store charging a re-stocking fee, if it's something huge (like a big screen TV or a mattress) that needs to be stored in a warehouse, but the idea of charging a re-stocking fee for a laptop, other wise known as a portable compooter is horsesh|t IMO.

I mean, why not just change the name from "re-stocking" fee to what it really is? Calling it a "we're really p|ssed that you are returning this expensive item, so we aren't going to give you all your money back" fee would seem to be much more accurate.
