wiffleball 4,790 Posted January 10, 2007 Baghdad covers 250 square miles. By comparison, NYC covers 321 square miles and has 37,000 police officers. Prior to "the new way forward", (best as I can tell), we have about 35-40,000 US troops plus whatever number of Iraqi troops & police currently in Baghdad. The new plan is to add another 20,000+ to Baghdad alone. That would bring the number of US forces in Baghdad to 60,000 + the Iraqi police, + the Iraqi Army. Not drawing any conclusions, just giving y'all a point of reference for all the discussions to come - and all those that are already occuring.

davebg 0 Posted January 10, 2007 Yes, but the Bronx is only one of the boroughs of NYC. Iraq is Iraq...through and through.
