What kind of fresh (bakery) bread goes best with Brats?

So, I'm prolly going off my veggie and fruit diet in a few days and am drooling over the prospect of eating some D-licious brats...maybe on Sunday. I've got a great recipe for a brown sauce which I'll def make, but would like to make the bratrageous experience even better by using fresh bread instead of regular old hotdog buns.

 

Anyone know what kind of bread I should use? There's a good German bakery down the block.
