What can you compare them to? Just wondering. TIA Gamecube 1.5 is an accurate name for it. Oddly, for some of the more entertaining games (wii sports, warioware, and anticipated wii play) the graphics are far below next-gen systems. Maybe PS1 level on those, but they aren't really trying. Games that I have seen that TRY to look good (zelda) do a pretty good job of it. Bottom line, if you are buying a game system and your #1 concern is graphics, the wii will probably disappoint you -- because the best games don't even take advantage of what the wii can do graphics wise, which is well below the PS3. My advice: find someone with a wii and a copy of wii sports, and play it for 15 minutes. you'll likely be hooked.

I want something fun for the family, don't care too much about graphics if the gameplay is fun. I have a pc that I use for the eye candy games. How does Call of Duty stack up against the pc version? cday 0 Posted February 13, 2007 Thanks. Thats what I was looking for. I want something fun for the family, don't care too much about graphics if the gameplay is fun. I have a pc that I use for the eye candy games. How does Call of Duty stack up against the pc version? haven't played or seen it, but a friend of mine has quite a few more wii games than me, including that. i'll probably get to check it out sometime this week. as for looking for something fun for the family, wii is a slam dunk then and you shouldn't think twice. i've owned quite a few systems over the years, and you can tell some of the games that will eventually come out that take advantage of the wii's capabilities are going to be sick. i imagine tiger woods golf will be pretty ridiculous, and i've never purchased a golf game -- it's just that on the wii, i'm betting it'd be a blast. /anxiously awaiting the wii version of mario kart

Thats about the time I switched to the pc. But now, with the family and all, I want something fun for all of us. I knew by all the research that it is fun, and even many here said so. But I do want to be reassured that the graphics are still ok. Like I said, not a huge point with me if it is fun, but I still do not want them to suck ass and make me think I am playing the original NES, graphics wise. Also, last question. Do the contollers for the wii act accordingly? In other words, is there any kind of delay when "swinging" them. Or are they pretty much right on timing wise? I don't have one, but I played at a buddy's house. Call of Duty looks every bit as good as on the PC, and my buddy has a sick PC. We were checking them out side-by-side and it was really, really close. The PC had slightly more textures and shadow, but hardly noticable. The controllers have zero delay. It's sick. Right on, timing-wise.

jets24 6 Posted February 13, 2007 It's weird. Graphics are important and everything but sometimes if they are too vested in the graphics, it takes away from the game play. The graphics are fine for the Wii but nothing amazing. But, I would rather play some of the old Super Nintendo games rather than these new amazing graphic games. I'm a bit odd like that. The timing/swinging thing is very, very accurate. I can't figure it out. It is amazing. Truly.
Yer mom 2 Posted February 13, 2007 Turn on some music while your drinking beers and play bowling, almost no different from being at the alley. I've turned it into quite the date tool since I got a projection screen (10ft x 12ft) addicting stuff!
kutulu 1,551 Posted February 14, 2007 I got one for the kids for XMASS...still haven't tried it out yet.

cday 0 Posted February 14, 2007 like others said, the timing is spot on. it really is quite impressive what they were able to do and have the console only cost $300. bundling wii sports with it was a genius move. it's a hugely addicting game and you can tell once they come out with the 'real' versions of bowling, tennis, baseball, etc. they will be fantastic.
