Giants Fan 85 Posted March 1, 2007 I get waved at ... by anyone who really LOVES leaf spring suspension. The YJ .... (blah, blah ... discontinued) ... because of it's wider wheel base, did not have the same "rollover" problem that was common for CJs. The TJ ... with air bags ... IMHO ... was the death of the REAL JEEP! I got waived at, the other day by some guy in a brand new BMW ... and I wasn't quite sure, just kinda nodded ... and he gave me a thumbs up ... to be sure. Been waived at by guys in old Landcruiser's even. The ORIGINAL Wrangler ... square headlights or not .... it's a classic. Guys in TJ's .... all lifted, with chrome and fresh wax .... don't wave back, most of the time. I'd guess some "holier than though" CJ/YJ owner musta given him crap. I've had guys in total rock crawlers nod in admiration. She's pretty. Pavement princess. I wont deny it. Trying to trade my softop ... for a hardtop, just to make it even MORE of a Mall rated Jeep. Fresh cool AC ... yeah, gotta have it if you wanna land the girls in heat stroke in the summer. http://phoenix.craigslist.org/pts/286440388.html And if you can show me another YJ with STOWABLE windshield wipers (no, they aren't broken, they work) ... I'd be floored. Also, just FYI .... most YJ's were made and sold in Canada ... good snow vehicle. My Rio is US Manf., original Arizona Jeep. Clear Carfax ... often dealer maintained .... I paid the dealer almost $1,000 to put a new gas tank in it. The heat can cause them to stretch, and over time crack. Nobody has taken care of this thing ... like me. It's a better vehicle today, than it was brand new. Sorry if I am ga ga over it ... but I always wanted a Jeep ... and it's better than I thought it was! I'm actually pretty quick off the line. I can squeel the tires and everything ... but this isn't a hotrod. It's a well maintained, all terrain vehicle. Tiny gas tank though. Not much range, if I'm booking. Wind at my back, slight decline ... 90 MPH max speed. The computer actually wont let you push the 2.5L past like 4,000 RPM .... but 3,800 RPM, in 5th gear ... all day. I had a couple problems, had to replace the water pump and the thermometer housing. Had, endless battery problems ... and again went to the dealer, to get it done right .... new battery cables. Can't get that part new, anywhere else. They didn't rob me so bad though ... $150. But it's the right part ... brand new.

A BMW Fock that, no....only wave to another wrangler or CJ owner etc..... that is funny, I was just about to post that I only do the wave when I am driving my Wrangler and not when I am driving my GC.
