naomi 362 Posted March 11, 2007 Regarding the US moving the daylight savings start time up, how do you feel about your whole country (save Saskatchewan) switching? It's for practical reasons so I imagine it's mostly understood and people are indifferent. I just wonder if it makes anyone that a bill passed in the US then effects you guys. Most Canadian provinces and territories say they will follow the U.S. plan and begin daylight time earlier and end it later. In general, the provinces agreed it was essential to co-ordinate with the U.S. and that not doing so would create too many headaches for trade and travel. "We're not anxious to have a disconnect between us and our chief trading partner," said Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty.

Chronic Husker 86 Posted March 11, 2007 DST was created in order to save electricity. Now, electricity is so cheap that the problems outweigh the benefits. We should probably do away with it.
