pimptastic69 0 Posted March 26, 2007 I just watched it online today. It originally appeared a few weeks ago on the UK's Channel 4. Here's the highlights from Wikipedia. From what I gather, the basic premise of human caused GW (CO2) is flawed because data suggests that rises in CO2 levels are attributed to rises in temperature, not the other way around. Granted, I'm of the "follow the money trail" mindset that humans are not causing global warming, I'm not necessarily saying this production is proof. There are about 10 or 15 scientists that give some convincing and (as of yet) undeniable evidence that humans are not to blame. There's one expert oceanographer that has a case of the goo over his role in the film. He felt "misrepresented". But what about the other scientists? They make some good points concerning the validity of the current GW cause. The show is about 75 minutes long. The Great Global Warming Swindle

lechuza 0 Posted March 27, 2007 there is no doubt the global warming is happening, the question is what is the cause of it. I personally belive that the earth is in a cyclical pattern and that changes would be happening regardless of whether there were humans or not. Are humans speeding up the process? you could convince me of that

wiffleball 4,793 Posted March 27, 2007 Some things I think I think I know about GW: 1. Its pretty obvious to look at the icecaps and realize that some serious warming is occuring. 2. I don't think we really know the cause of it. And it's probably a combination of things. 3. I don't think - short of reverting back to the stone age - man can really do enough to impact the earth significantly. 3a) Our next big change will be when we start using Hydrogen powered engines. Ethanol's a half-measure joke. 4. GWB shouldn't have a former oil industry lobbyist as his chief science advisor - editing and censoring the smartest guys in the country. 5. I think things are going to get a hell of a lot worser.
