Truck driver found in Corzine crash

CAMDEN, New Jersey (AP) -- Police found the driver they believe caused a wreck that left Gov. Jon S. Corzine critically injured, and authorities did not plan to charge the man, a state official said Saturday.

 

Corzine was hurt Thursday when the SUV he was riding in was clipped by a vehicle that swerved to avoid a red pickup truck that officials said was being driven erratically.

The official, who wouldn't be named because the official is not authorized to speak on the matter, said the driver, 20, who worked at an Atlantic City casino, didn't realize he had caused the crash and thought he actually avoided an accident.

 

He was described as a "special needs driver" who may have a mental impairment, the official said.
