ADP for 8 team league

Recommended Posts

1) Is there an easy way to input an 8 team ADP? I only see 10, 12, &14 listed.

2) I am currently using draft buddy to do a mock draft to get used to the features and when I click on the Overall tab, the FF pts dont match the FF Pts on the Offense Tab

3) what specifically is the values field?

I apologize as I think I have seen questions 2&3 asked before but cant seem to find it now.

Thanks! oh..and great program! :dunno:

Hi volwrath. Thanks!

1. 8-team ADP - You could probably go to www.fantasyfootballcalculator.com, copy the 8-team ADP off the website and put it overtop the 10-team ADP data in the Compiler. One thing to be wary of though is the player names should match up exactly as they are elsewhere in the Compiler. There aren't that many differences, but Steve Smith becomes Steve Smith (CAR) for example.

2. Really? Are you sure you're looking at the FF Pts. Oh, I know... after you changed the scoring in the Compiler, did you hit Compile Cheatsheets? You need to do that anytime you change the setup tab or scoring tab in the Compiler to see the impact of the change. Then when you run the Draft Buddy setup (again) it will pull the new cheatsheets from the Compiler over to Buddy.

On 1. I tried that in the compiler and it lost all the ADP rankings in the tabs. I think I will try it in draft buddy.

2. That must be what happened or something similiar as I compiled / setup and they matched again.

EDIT: for whatever reason when I enter ADP-8 into the compiler where 10 should be, it vanishes from everywhere, even though the fields I replace with adp-8 are text fields with no formulas. I also re-compiled to see if that would work, but alas it doesnt. ADP shows up. I really dont see anywhere in draft buddy to put the adp, so now am kind of at a loss of what to do.

In Buddy you can put it on the adp tab, but use the listing on the right. The one on the left is where the players get removed from. In both places I've suggested it is only text, so I'm not sure what the problem would be. Try Edit > Paste Special > As Values.

Ah... one thing... Buddy does give some issue about copying/pasting between tabs. What you may need to do first is close Buddy, then open it and Disable Macros. Then there shouldn't be a copy/paste restriction, so put the new ADP data in there. Save, close, re-open and now Enable Macros.

OK Ive done as you have said. I have tried it disabling macros in buddy, and then adding it to adp on the right. It DOES replace accordingly the ADP on the left side in the ADP tab, but it still doesnt show up correctly on the other screens. The other screens still show the initail 10 team ADP. I cut/pasted special several different ways all to no avail. For whatever reason, buddy is not pulling from this table.

My guess on Buddy is that it updates ADP when the setup button is hit, and then doesnt look at that tab again to populate ADP values. Please note this is a very uneducated guess

In a similiar vein, I tried the same disableing etc procedure on compiler and it had the same results as last time, ie when i populate the ADP portion of compiler, other tabs go blank where I changed the tabs. As I test I simply changed LTs ADP to 2.05 to see what would happen and just modifying the number worked fine..STRANGE

Anyway, I think I have found a way around my error in compiler. Basically I must delete the ADP values from the compiler and then do a copy/paste special with the add function, evidently this allows it to retain the conditional formatting as well as whatever else goes on behind the scenes... Thanks!

Edit: spoke too soon if I do that player names are not updated on ADP.. This is starting to bug me!

Is the confusion here that you think the ADP-10 label on the cheatsheets is going to change? That is not going to change, but it will still pull the ADP data from the adp tab. I did just realize though, if you want the ADP data on the cheatsheets to be different (8 team) then you have to change it in the Compiler, as you showed with the LT 2.05 test. Are you sure your names are matching up? Maybe there are some trailing spaces in the names of the data you are inputting?

You know, I was trying to figure out how to remove extra spaces from things. The TRIM function. I'll have to remember that.
