Remind me again why Lee Evans is a stud

I played him because I drafted him as my WR2. My bench didn't blow up, so it is what it is.

To answer the question, here's why you start him every week: He will get 1, maybe 2 looooooong TDs regardless of the matchup. He's a hit and miss player that you plug in and forget about. This week he gave you 2 points. Next week he could get you 40 and win you the week. He's an over the top player who is worthy of a 4th round pick. His numbers should be at or around top 10 this year when all is said and done.

You should have gone in knowing this if you drafted him. If you didn't then you didn't do your research. Being shocked by this game is foolish. You start him for his upside, knowing full well that he will have 6 games a year that he doesn't contribute, 7 games a year that he's well above average in targets and receptions, and 3 games a year where he goes crazy.

Even in this game, there was a 50+ pass thrown to Evans in the end zone - JP Lohsman overthrew him by 10 yards, but Evans had 4 yards of separation - if the pass was on the money that would have made your week for him and this topic wouldn't exist. You'd instead be patting yourself on the back for what a genius you were for drafting him.

This is somewhat a dumb topic, overreacting to a bad week 1 in a bad matchup. But you start him because of his obvious upside and what he can do with a single pass. He might have 3 catches for 34 yards, then BOOM - a 67 yd TD. Suddenly he's 4/100/1 - all it takes is one play with him. He will have better weeks. Barring injury Evans will grace my starting lineup as a WR2 in one league and a WR3 in another every single week without fail. I can handle starting him and getting 2 points. I cannot handle benching him and leaving 30 on my bench. It was a bad game - suck it up and try not to be too dramatic about it.

I still will start him every week. Most recievers are extremely inconsistent.
