Dakkon79 0 Posted October 22, 2007 Here's the deal, I'm in a 12 team keeper league and another owner, who's building for next year offered me the following trade (we can keep 2 players, no round limitations" I get: Lawrence Maroney, Larry Fitzgerald I give: Willis McGahee, conditional 3rd or 4th Round Pick My roster: QB: Peyton Manning, Chad Pennington RB: Steven Jackson, Brian Leonard, Willis McGahee, Selvin Young, Michaell Bennett WR: Plaxico Burress, Hines Ward, Javon Walker, James Jones TE: Antonio Gates, Desmond Clark K: Stephen G. D: Packers, Eagles Should I do this trade? It appears to help me at WR and how the Pats Offense is, I think Maroney will get just as many points as McGahee. But am I giving too much up??? Please help! Point system: QB TD: 3points, 25yrds = 1point RB TD: 4points, 10yrds = 1point WR TD: 5points, 10yrds = 1point Leave a link and I'll answer yours!!!! big D 0 Posted October 22, 2007 I like the trade...if Maroney can get healthy you've got a steal! Do it! see mine http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=297506
blick 39 Posted October 23, 2007 I like it. You will be stacked at WR and I think Maroney has more long term upside.
TX Steel 0 Posted October 23, 2007 I like the deal, too. Maroney is in the same mold as McGahee and he's in a great system. The additional WR will help you out.
HermanEdwards 0 Posted October 23, 2007 I would definitely make the deal. What would you rather have, a Patriot or a Raven? - Exactly. Maroney will get it going. I mean all the Patriots do is put up points!!!!! Plus, you need another explosive WR with the loss of Javon. Fitzgerald definitely fits that mould, regardless of who's at QB in Arizona. Plaxico and Fitz is a nasty combo. Pull the trigger.
Klockner 0 Posted October 23, 2007 Do it. Aside from what's said above, you certainly are getting young enough talent in return, making sure your team remains strong in the next few years.
Denman007 0 Posted October 23, 2007 I have Maroney and I can stand him. He gets no touches - even when he is healthy. On the other hand McGahee gets all the touches. Fitz is a big ? in the QB situation. You'll get no return this year. Maybe next yr be different. I'd stick - but I'm bias cause I'm so sick of Maroney and NE. bgibjr 0 Posted October 23, 2007 I think it is a decent trade especially when Maroney gets healthy, Fitz will definitely be an upgrade to your WR position. Mine? http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=297557
SC_TBFD 0 Posted October 23, 2007 I agree it's a good trade for you this year. but is Fitz worth a 3rd round pick next year? I'm not sure. mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=297574
WFactor 0 Posted October 23, 2007 I wouldn't. I have Maroney and McGahee on a team and I would rather have McGahee than Maroney and a good WR. Judging by your team, I would wanna keep McGahee because he is at least a sure thing every week, unlike SJax, Maroney, and Selvin Young (later on). Please see mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=297397
Bgards79 0 Posted October 23, 2007 Thank you for responding to mine. I would not do this this trade. I do not see any immediate payoff for you on this deal and you are jeopardizing next years draft as well. And for what? A banged up RB in a pass first/only offense and a WR without a QB??? I would much rather have MaGahee right now and you can use that 3rd round pick next year to tighten up your WR corp.
