scherber830 0 Posted December 1, 2007 Overrated: (Does not mean they suck or aren't good players, simply they don't perform up to their considerable media hype) Chad Johnson - has he ever had a 10 TD season? Vince Young - great athlete but Titans have won in the past in spite of his performances Darren Sharper - every sees him gets picks, but he is routinely beat in coverage Ray Lewis - what time is it? retiring time! Up until this season...Brett Favre Reggie Bush - before I traded him away Bush was always good for 48 yards rushing on 17 carries, with an occaisional good receiving day Santana Moss - has not lived up to Miami pedigree DeAngelo Hall - shuts down Steve Smith but who doesn't lately? Underrated: David Gerrard (sp?) - never turns the ball over, quietly a probowl candidate, but in AFC he won't get in Jason Campbell - stud in the making Ben Leber - don't know who he is? you should...stud LB Matt Hasselbeck - should be mentioned among best, most consistent FF QBs, but he isn't Joey Galloway - still a beast well past 60 years old Mike Peterson - absolute wrecker at MLB ReSheen (sp?) Mathis - another Jag who is underrated...great CB

49ers_suck 0 Posted December 1, 2007 overrated: Roy Williams, Safety. big hitter, occasional big play, gets burned in pass coverage way too much. still makes the pro-bowl every year. glad the Boys are takin him out more on passing situations.
Foghorn Leghorn 0 Posted December 1, 2007 Overrated - Dre' Bly. I've never understood the appeal of this guy. He gets the odd pick, but he has gotten burned quite often in the past, and I think the Lions are better off without him. Underrated - David Garrard. 8 games, 209 pass attempts, 0 int. McPhreak 0 Posted December 1, 2007 Underrated Offense Michael Turner Most of your picks I can agree with, but I don't see how Michael Turner can be considered underrated. I know he has shown some flashes of excellent running and has the potential to be a great RB in the future, he has yet to produce on a consistent basis beyond some spot backup duty. He's also probably the most hyped backup RB in the NFL right now fantasy-wise (how many keeper leagues have Turner as a free agent?). I'll cast my vote for Kelly Gregg as an underrated NT. dreadlocks34 0 Posted December 1, 2007 The defense here is talked about highly in it's run stopping ability, but as individual players I really think Pat but moreso Kevin Williams do not get enough acclaim for how really good they are.

How can he have produced on a consistent level? He's never had a chance to. You act as if that's his fault. Who was talking about keeper leagues? I'm talking about the NFL - real life. He's not a household name. How many people other than fantasy football players know who he is? Not many. Everything that you said about him is why he's underrated. Everything that you said about him is why he's underrated. I guess our definitions of "underrated" differ. When I think "underrated" I think of not getting enough public credit for how much they've produced or contributed to their team. Therefore, people who haven't produced (whether their fault or not) at the NFL level do not meet the definition of underrated in my book. Considering Turner hasn't produced yet, I guess you think he's underrated based on his potential then.
49ers_suck 0 Posted December 1, 2007 not so much now, because of injury, but going into this year, Steven Jackson was way overrated. he probably will be next year too.
Turf CamelToe 1 Posted December 1, 2007 In my opinion Chad Johnson is underated. From most posters opinions, you would think he is a Dud, yet he is currently tied with Reggie Wayne for 5th in points in my League.

scherber830 0 Posted December 2, 2007 Brett Favre is overrated! dude, shut up about brett favre already. you've started like 40 threads about he and the packers. the cowboys won...good job. the regular season don't mean sh*t. I'm a vikings fan, and after 1998 i learned that. i was on your side in your initial post, and i do think favre is overrated by the media to an extent, but just stop posting. if you don't have anything to contribute to this forum besides trying to pick a fight with packer and favre fans...then you should really go catch SARS or something

mhaggy 0 Posted December 2, 2007 Overrated: (Does not mean they suck or aren't good players, simply they don't perform up to their considerable media hype) Chad Johnson - has he ever had a 10 TD season? I concur he is overrated, but in 2002 he had over 1300 yards and 10 TDs to answer your question. That said, I'd rather have Housh. Especially in a PPR league. Vince Young - great athlete but Titans have won in the past in spite of his performances VY joins the ranks of fantastic college players who were jokes in the NFL. David Gerrard (sp?) - never turns the ball over, quietly a probowl candidate, but in AFC he won't get in Garrard is a stud as far as I am concerned. In a couple leagues I gambled on P. Rivers turning the corner this season (obviously that didn't work out too well - oops) so I picked him up Garrard and he has been giving me a steady 15 pts. every time he starts, which is more than fine. To be honest, he skills seem legit - is he just a RB-centric system QB? Or could he succeed in an offense like the Lions? Jason Campbell - stud in the making I'd rather build my team around Campbell than VY. Campbell has shown me 10x the skill and QB development that VY has shown me.
