Warner value?

Recommended Posts

Does Warner have any value as trade bait? :pointstosky:

I have Rudi and can drop him and pickup Warner (although I already have 2 QBs). I really need another #2 RB that doesn't have bye week #8 but there's not much out there. So I thought I could snag Warner and see what happens. I'm betting he get hurts but if he doesn't he seems more likely to start than Leinart (who just looks weak).

Any ideas?

You might be able to get a decent #2 back depending on what the rest of your league has.

Try trading him to whoever picked up Lienart in the draft or somone who doesn't have a backup QB.

If you want to hype him up you can always use the, "lolol liek he r BOUND 2 trow lots uv tuchdowns wit fitz n boldin BOTH lolololol" line.

looks like he may have some trade value now that he got named the starter...rudi just got cut so it depends on who picks him up.

you never know w/ arizona b/w warner and leinart.

thanks for mine.

I do a lot of trading and I tend to resist the impulse to pick up a player just for trade bait.

IMO Warner's upside is a low QB1 to High QB2 who is in jeopardy of losing his job back to Leinart with a bad half of play. In addition, he is an injury risk. So anyone who would trade for him would have to be pretty weak at QB. There is no way you'll get a decent #2 back for him unless you are playing with an idiot.

I'd tend to wait until you can really pick up a decent #2 RB if that is what you need. Otherwise, dump Rudi and take a shot at Hightower or Andre Hall if they are still available. They are both RBBC right now with good talent and become a solid every week starter if Selvin or Edge get injured.

What a genius..... 1st drafting Rudi as a #2 and having no back-ups. 2nd picking up someone on waivers and then trying to trade him. Personally I hate when people offer me someone just picked up off the wire. It is insulting ans most people feel this way.

I wish you were in my league. I would laugh all the way to the bank........

Actually I have Selvin, Perry, Ronnie and Ricky as backup RBs with Perry & Selvin also having the same bye week #8 (which was the problem).

As for picking up Warner, why not? Or would you just let him sit there for the Trent Edwards owner to pick him up? The only other RB choices would be Slaton, who has a turf toe and bye week #8, or some average WRs. Person with most value = Warner. So if I can pickup Warner and then trade Favre or Delhomme for a different RB, why not?

Don't worry, I wont' have my feelings hurt by your post... GL w/ your trade of Cotchery & Portis for Calvin & Selvin, you'll need it.

I would pick up Warner just for the hell of it if he is sitting there. The guy was just named the starter and has one of the best WR tandems in the league to boot. I would hold off on trading him though, at least for a bit.
