Trying to trade for Colston - is C.Perry and CHI too much?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I'm trying to plan ahead since we have a WR heavy league. This non-PPR league is only 10 teams, but we can start up to 5 WRs counting the 2 flex spots (W/R & W/T). Standard scoring with bonus for 100yd rec/rus & 300yd pass games.

We start QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, W/R, W/T, TE, K, D

As you can imagine, WRs are a hot commodity in this league and it would be really nice to get a solid one in Colston for later in the year. The Colston owner lost several to injuries and has had bad play from other WR/RBs.

Here is my team (3-0 so far and should be point leader after this week):

QB: Brees (just dropped Cassel as backup)

RB: MBIII, LJ, Graham, Lenwhale, C.Perry, Slaton, C.Taylor (plenty of depth/potential)

WR: Housh, Jennings, Cotchery, Driver (could use another solid WR or 2)

TE: H.Miller

K: Crosby

DEF: CHI, MIN, PHI (drafted CHI, picked up MIN after someone gave up on them early, got PHI for BYE)

So I clearly have RBs to trade off and can send over CHI (or MIN) and if I was getting multiple WRs I could even send someone Driver since I have Jennings.

What seems fair to offer a guy who needs WR/RB (now) and has JAX as his DEF so he may want a better DEF? I thought about C.Perry & CHI but is that too much to offer or fair enough for Colston? I'm wondering if Perry is at a "sell high" point or if I should offer another RB. He already said he doesnt want Lenwhale the TD vulture.

Thanks for the help and leave a link.

well you def need WR/TE help by week 8 when you lose Jennings AND Driver to byes.......To me CHI AND Perry seems high to me for just Colston esp because he is hurt (might not be back to help in week 8) and also CHI is a top D that can put up some points themselves and Perry could be stepping up more as their passing game flounders some.

You probably could get a decent WR for just CHI.......I would put that bait out there first

Thanks for mine.

Wow, you guys sound nuts to me...a Def and a RB on a crap team for Colston is too much?! Huh?

Well Perry might be on a crap team but he is the starting RB, is healthy, is getting plenty of touches and has scored in the past 2 games now. And CHI isnt your avg DEF, they can help win close games. This on top of Colston being out at least another month. Now if Colston was healthy then its a completely different story.

Anyhow, he offered me Colston for Lendale White and CHI. I think I'll roll with this since Lendale is only likely to start for me if Chris Johnson is not playing. Plus hes only productive when he scores TDs and he wont score each week.

Is there any recent news on Colston though? I'd really like him for week 8 (since I have WRs on BYE) but realize this is right at the point where they say he should get back. thanks for any info or opinions on his latest status and/or the trade in general.
