Bench T.O. this week?

Recommended Posts

Guys I am playing against an 8-0 team coming up this week and I am 6-2. He starts M. Schaub (Romo hurt) and Andre Johnson. I am considering benching T.O. this week and picking up K. Walter with the thought process being that perhaps I can even out some of Schaub's points.

I would also be starting Fitz and Marshall so obviously T.O. would be the correct bench if I decided to use Walter. He also starts Santonio Holmes and I have Roethelisberger.

Any thoughts on this??

I would consider benching Owens because his QB sucks, he hasn't done $hit in weeks, he's on the road, and they play the giants. Walter is also a good pickup. Not necessarily because of "evening out points" but because they play my vikings and our pass D sucks. It's probably the right play.

What gundy said. You shouldn't really worry about evening out Schaub's points--start the best players you have regardless of what he has. You can't control what your opponent does, so focus on your points and what gives you the best chance to win. That said, Walter could be a better play than TO this week anyway, since Schaub's been hot, you know they'll pass against Minnesota, and TO's been brutal. With Fitz and Marshall probably already giving you solid production, you may be able to afford taking that slight risk with big upside at the third receiver spot.

I would pick up Walter.....depending on the depth of your league you'll probably need to put in a waiver claim for him as he had a big day on Sunday.

I like the evening out points strategy. You may also want to make a move for Owen Daniels and start him. I've done this in the past and it neutralizes a QB. Only do it if you think your other matchups are superior....

We have a silent auction style bidding process for free agents. We get one bid, if we get out bid then we lose the player. I put in a fairly high bid so I feel confident that I will get him.

Owen Daniels is already owned by another player.

I would also agree in not worrying about evening it out. That's nice if it happens, but you have to put out the best possible lineup.
