WhiteWonder 2,735 Posted May 10, 2009 I'm kind of surprised everyone has ADP locked in at number one. In my leage (PPR) he finished outside the top 5 in both total points and points per game. Add into that he's been banged up every year, always fighting an injury and I just don't know. I just found out I have the number one overall pick this year and so far, Forte is the no brainer for #1 overall. Don't get me wrong, I do think ADP is a stud, I just don't think I can pass up a complete back like Forte who was a rookie last year and was second in total points by .4 to DWill and tied for 1st with DWill in PPG. He's a vet this year, he has Cutler to open up the run game and a vastly improved o-line...if he stays healthy I see no reason why all his numbers won't sky rocket. For me, at this point, Forte is a no brainer #1 overall. If I was in a non PPR league I might go with ADP, I suppose. But I'd be looking hard at Forte, Turner and MJD too. If Favre signs with the Vikes, I may have to re-evaluate things, but I don't foresee it changing my mind. i honestly think (i know for me at least) ranking him first is a matter of security. Look at the other guys being mentioned near him. Turner - has a massive amount of carries in just his first year as a starter and adds no receptions to the mix. Forte - was a rookie and there is always the threat of a sophomore slump. MJD - this will be his first year carrying the full load. so in a sense, ADP is the most sure thing even though he often deals with injuries himself. I wouldn't shake my head to any of those 4 being drafted first overall but I think this is why you see alot of people ranking ADP first.
