GettnHuge 2 Posted June 28, 2009 Love the Pistons first pick. Need a PF so lets draft a 6' 10' 190 lb guy that couldnt bench 175. I was really hoping Hansbrough would be there at #15 for them. I just dont buy into that 'he needs to bulk up' stuff anymore. Unless you're playing center or PF which he's not, it's just not necessary. Look at tayshaun, kevin durant, squeegee miller, AI, rip hamilton, hell even kevin garnett was awkwardly skinny, but those body types seem to do alright cause of the less physical NBA. defensively it could be a factor, but those guys can make it. Daye has skiwws.
Chronic Husker 85 Posted June 30, 2009 ETA: Interesting when you look at the players mentioned as comparable to Curry throughout this thread. Reggie Miller = 6'7". Chris Mullin = 6'7". Even Redick is a legit 6'4". Reports are that Curry is a bit on the shy side of 6'3". I know that the majority of the public want to believe in the little guy. That's at least in part because the majority of the public ARE the little guy. But at that level, vs the best athletes in the world, being undersized for your spot on the floor is a big disadvantage. Well, go back to my Dell Curry comparison, then. Pretty sure Dell was only 6'4" (link says 6'5") and he had a successful NBA career shooting-wise. As much NBA as you watch, you know that just about every team could use a shooting guard that can actually shoot! http://www.nba.com/playerfile/dell_curry/c...?nav=TextNavBar Look at the consistency of scoring during the middle of his career. Has anyone in recent memory shot over 40% from downtown for eight straight years? (Yes, I know the line's been moved back.) If Stephen Curry could duplicate the career of his dad, I'm sure the Warriors will be more than happy with the pick in this weak draft.
