jgcrawfish 232 Posted July 29, 2009 Who would be your top 5 rookie wr that you would want in a keeper league....the league is a TD only League! I am looking to snag a rookie wr that could be a td maker, not only for this year....but the future. Gimme your top 5....thanks to me, this is a very weak WR class. I find myself not wanting to spend a high pick in dynasty ppr league on a WR because I don't trust any of them. Heyward Bey, Crabtree, Maclin, Harvin, Nicks, Britt and Robiskie in the order they were drafted: Heyward Bey - reach by the Raiders. Speed guy w/ poor hands and a bad QB. I wouldn't touch him in my dynasty league until 2nd round, maybe. Crabtree - on record in several threads as saying I'm not buying the hype. If he was in camp on time he would still be 2-3 yrs away from being a consistent, but not dominant, WR. Also likely handicapped by poor QB play athough Hill is a bit underrated if you ask me. Maclin - has a ton of talent but plays in a WCO based offense that's very RB passing dominant. Not sure about the signing status but has a lot to learn coming from a spread offense like Missouri. Good QB situation but the ball gets spread around too much for him to be a consistent threat. Harvin - my favorite player of the bunch, he just has "it". He's a play maker, similar to Reggie Bush. But he's in a fairly loaded Minny offense with ADP/Taylor, Berrian, Rice, and Schiancoe (underrated TE) and has potential QB issues. Nicks - goes to a run-based team loaded with young WR talent, so he has a chance to make some noise. But I believe at best he's the 3rd WR in that offense and will have to beat out two of Steve Smith, Domenix Hixon, Sinorice Moss and Manningham to even have a shot, not to mention the Redzone love that Ramses Barden will likely get. Britt - Goes to heavy run based Tennessee and has to compete with #1 Gage and #2 Nate Washington, not likely to make much noise. Robiskie - my favorite WR of the bunch. Great hands, good routes, high football IQ. Good size. This guy will become a good possession WR in Cleveland in the mold of TJ Housh. I don't see a guy worth owning in a TD only league and the only ones I'd take a flyer on (late) in a redraft/limited keeper league are Harvin, Crabtree and Robiskie. gridiron whirlwinds 9 Posted July 29, 2009 I really never have been much on drafting rookie WR.....I just have a hunch about a guy I think just possibly could grab maybe 7 tds on the high end. Maybe this guy cant do it either, but I dont feel there are any real studs ahead of him....what are your thoughts on WR Hakeem Nicks? Dont ask my why....I just thing he is a good fit here with a chance to succeed.
