envoy9 5 Posted September 30, 2009 We're in a PPR league (with return yards) with 1 QB, 2RB, 4 W/T and 1 Flex (Q, R, T). My starters are Brees, S. Slaton, Pi. Thomas, We Welker (if healthy), S. Breaston, Burleson, and Coles. I'm useing Big Ben as my flex. My bench is Thomas Jones, Moreno, Fred Taylor, Shaun Hill, Tedd Ginn, Austin, Jacoby Jones. I've been offered S Jax for Rothelsberger. This would give me the option of using SJAX in palce of Rothelsberger in the flex spot or a few other parameters. Should I do this? I'm thinking that this a buy low situation. BNJ 0 Posted September 30, 2009 I wouldn't do it. You need a week 5 fill in for brees, with your current roster that is Big Ben vs the Detroit Lions or Shaun Hill vs. Atlanta (Minus Frank Gore). I think Atlanta gives the 49ers all they want that day but I think Ben should air it out against a Detroit secondary that is very beatable. the predicted values of the S jax and B Roth also give the edge to Roth in the flex spot so only if you have to fill an RB spot would I think about this one. I think you pay too much to get too little.
1LAMBERT58 0 Posted September 30, 2009 I would do it. Steven Jackson is the Rams offense and I think he will start seeing the end zone soon enough. He is also the best receiving option now for the Rams. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=352126
HTH 95 Posted September 30, 2009 The flex scoring setting is the key. QB's usually score more points than RB's and Big Ben is running a passing offense this year. The past three seasons: Big Ben - 18 21.3 16.0 S Jax - 20.6 13.6 15.9 The STL offense is horrendous. I'd go with BB. Thanks for answering mine.
skibadee 0 Posted September 30, 2009 Id do it for sure, you have to think rest of the year, as the winter comes and Pitts starts playing cold games they run more and less Ben. The real risk overal is that Stevie Jackson gets hurt Id still make the deal and go with Stevie over Big Ben
GoLions 0 Posted September 30, 2009 I would hold off for now. Big Ben going to start finding Holmes and it be all ova!
spacepirate 0 Posted September 30, 2009 No chance. The Rams already couldn't find the end zone when they had Robinson, now they have a banged up QB. Running backs rack up the points when their team is holding a lead which is rare for the craptastic Rams. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=352138
H-man 12 Posted September 30, 2009 I don't have any experience w/ the format you're in but it sounds like QBs get more points so I guess I would hold off and keep Big Ben. Although don't expect huge things from Roethlisberger b/c their run game seemed a little better last week and Holmes seems to be in a slump the past 2 weeks (maybe related to his wrist injury).
