tough choices needed to be made...

Recommended Posts

due to injuries/bye week blue, I am really short on RB and WR and have to make the following choices..

choose 1 WR

Mike Wallace (PIT) vs MIN

Tedd Ginn (MIA) vs NO

choose 2 RBs

Justin Fargas (OAK) vs NJY

Fred Jackson (BUF) vs CAR

Ricky Williams (MIA) vs NO

My league counts return yards by the way...20 yards/point

Help me and I will help you in return... :headbanger:

Justin Fargas (OAK) vs NJY ouch!

Fred Jackson (BUF) vs CAR double ouch!!

Ricky Williams (MIA) vs NO triple ouch!!!

Flip coins on these 3 - I'm inclined to go F Jackson (he's a return man now) and Ricky. You'll need all the luck you can get this week.

First I would say that Ginn or Wallace would work. No Winfield for Minny this week. Wallace has been active even as the 3rd receiver. Ginn is not bad because if the blowout occurs, at least Miami has to keep throwing. I think I like Ginn better.

As for RB, that one is easy. Jackson is out.

I do not believe the statement about Jackson is true at all. He's in a minority timeshare with Lynch getting about 2/3 of the work at this point. Yes, I'm aware he was injured last Sunday but NOWHERE have I read that he isn't gonna play this week. In fact, per Rotoworld YESTERDAY: "The Bills have benched Roscoe Parrish in favor of Fred Jackson on punt returns."

If it's return yards, its a no brainer.

Take Wallace, FJax, and Ricky Williams. That way you also spread out your exposure. (no Ginn + Rickey). FJax is the best option if return yardage counts.

Ginn also does kick-off returns now which should be plenty against the high-power NO offense

And what makes you so sure of that? Cobbs, not Ginn was the kick returner before his season ending injury.

As of yesterday, Tony Sparano refused to reveal his choice for Patrick Cobbs' replacement on kickoff returns.

"I'm not telling you," Sparano said. "You'll just have to see at the game." Ted Ginn is considered the favorite, but new addition Kory Sheets is making a late push in practice this week.

But regardless of whether Ginn gets his old kick return job back, I personally think Wallace is a MUCH better play than Ginn.

You had a point. I agree Wallace is a good choice against Winfield-less Vikings.. but his lack of production in the past 2 weeks scared me. What made you liked Wallace that much better?

1. Even as a rookie Wallace is a more complete receiver than Ginn is - with much better hands.

2. Wallace is on a more potent passing offense now that PITT has decided to air it out much more this year.

3. Even though rookies are notoriously inconsistent, the guy named Ginn Jr has made a career out of inconsistency.

Gonna have to say Wallace as NO pass D is a bit better and the Wildcat prevents Ginn from excelling. Minnys pass D is 24th and the Burger man will have a nice day throwing the ball around.

Fargas is a MUST now that Jenkins(nose tackle for the Jets) is out for the season. That leaves a HUGE hole in the Jets rush D and most teams will now exploit that. My other choice will have to be R. Williams. Even though Miami may have to abandon the run late in the game if it is a blow out, they will still run most of the day. Jackson has been seeing less and less of playing time now that Lynch is back, and Lynch looks like his former self.

Wallace for sure, More consistent than Ginn. For full disclosure, I should probably mention that I'm a PIT fan, but that in no way is swaying my vote. Okay, maybe a little :music_guitarred:

Williams and Fargas. Especially since Jenkins is out for the year like kostnkost mentioned.

And thanks for replying to my post.

I like Ginn for sure. He is their #1 guys, while Wallace is #4, if you count the TE Miller

RBs Vargas and Williams. They will get the most touches. Jets can be runned on now with Jenkins out (remember how the Fins ran on them on Monday night) Williams has been tough and they will run to keep ball away from Brees.

Thanks for mine

I'd go with wallace..Big Ben is on fire right now..It seems Ginn has 3-4 chances per game at that long td, since Miami runs so successfully, but that will be tough this week against NO. AS for punt returns New Orleans is in the top 5 for fewest punts this year, don't know if that will be much of a factor..plus I like Ricky for your RB, and wouldn't 2 miami players this week or any week. I like Bush and hes getting a few more touches in Oakland, but Lynch is getting more of the load every week now in Buffalo so I'd probably plug in Fargas..
