trying to salvage a playoff spot

Recommended Posts

Cut to the chase, my TEs stink since Daniels went down - we need to have 2 and I barely have 1... so the offer on the table is I give up Mendenhall and Fred Davis (one of my lovely TEs) for Brent Celek & Mike Bell

so the real deal is Celek for Mendenhall...

Mendenhalls remaining sched is: @KC, @ Balt, Oak, @ Cleve, GB, Balt

My other RBs are ADP, Chester Tayloy, Fred Jackson and Pierre Thomas, who will need to carry the load without Mendenhall. I mainly play Thomas anyway and would have Bell to insert if he or Thomas was out.

This is a PPR league and I have McNabb as my QB...so that could work out my nice.

My other TE is Zack Miller who is hit, rarely, or miss - most of the time.

Pull the trigger and don't look back?

I would defiantly stay put. Mendenhall is WAY better than Bell and Celek is good but not enough better to make up the difference. Depends a lot on if you can start 3 RB's or not

can't do 3 rbs - also had picked up Mendenhall and he's been in lineup 2 times since then, been playing Thomas because of PPR. So maybe this comes down to I don't play mendenhall a lot & mainly go with Thomas...so do I bail on Mendenhall to get Celek.

Or if you think Thomas is the weaker play...he would consider giving up Gates...in same package instead of celek. Thomas was my 4th pick this year and has been disappointing overall...I guess i am waiting for him to explode week to week.

anyone else on this...need to deal tonight.

Basically give up mendenhall for Brent celek.

I have NO TE (Miller, raiders, and DAVIS)

Can end up playing ADP and Pierre Thomas, with Chester as a backup, would get Mike Bell in Return to handcuff thomas and still have Fred Jackson (not much to say there...

Thoughts?

Personally I'd rather have Mendy than Pierre going forward. I know New Orleans has a great schedule down the stretch, but he shares the ball with so many other options on that offense. Mendy is the only guy in PIT.

If you could trade Thomas for Celek, I'd rather do that.....but if you personally like Thomas more, then I guess the deal makes sense for you.

heck no you dont make that trade. Celek is very good and very tempting when you have McNabb but Mike Bell for Mendenhall. NO WAY IN HELL. No one else should have 2 good TEs cause there are barely 2 great TEs to have. Hold what you got and maybe Cooley comes back and get him.

I see your need to pick up another te. I still think you are trading away too much. better stay put or up the anty

Thanks - answered your - good luck.

I want to be sure everyone understands, we need to carry 2 TEs, but only play one. Some posts sounded like we have to play 2...only 1. They guy I am talking about said he consider Gates if I give up Pierre Thomas...so I'd still ge Bell in return, but Gates instead of Celek.

I'd play:

McNabb, ADP, Mendenhall, Colston, Holmes/RoyWilliams/or Crabtree, Gates & a DEFENSE

so is that better or:

McNabb, ADP, Pierre, Colston, Holmes/RoyWilliams/or Crabtree, Celek & a DEFENSE

Other hang up is Pitts sched is rough during the playoffs if I get in...but need to get there first.

Thanks for answering mine, I answered yours yesterday but will edit if you get gates for Peirre. I would probably do that trade more, I like Mendy more overall you get an even better TE (imo) and have Bell in the back pocket
