Can't wait to see who we take in the first round. Brown was a HUGE surprise to me last year. What I find funny, our rookies from the 3rd and 4th round made more of an impact than anyone. And our punter rocked as well!

Hey mz5 -

How'd you like that selection? I was really hoping Iupati, Pouncey, or Bulaga dropped to #31, but once they were all taken, I knew we were going DEF.

I think I would've rathered Sergio Kindle as a playmaking LB to possibly take over for Brackett in a few years, and I don't know a ton about Jerry Hughes.

Thoughts?

There was a part of me last night thinking, I just stayed up all night and they are going to trade away the first round pick. I really was expecting that.

Once I saw we didn't, I was expecting either DE or CB. I have a feeling we might have had our eye on a couple of the CB that went right before our pick.

From the footage I saw and all that I have read and heard today, sounds like this was a great fit. He is fast around the end and we needed another pass rusher, which our defense thrives in. I was hoping for a CB though, first round...Just because I want someone to go with Powers...Heydan is ok, but I think Powers is the clear number 1 by next year and Lacy might be number 2.

As I stated before, our number 3, 4 and 6 from last year were our biggest and best values so far. So honestly, I can't wait to see what he does with those picks, as we usually find a lot of talent in those rounds, for our team. If one of the better T's fell to us, I could have seen that, but I think we can still find value in round 2 for that position.

Yeah I'm getting pretty pumped about this guy, although I don't think he'd have quite the impact in the next 2 years as a starting CB, or a starting OLineman.

I'm right with ya on the CB's and OT's, as you mentioned, and I fully expected us to trade to someone like Cleveland so they could move up and grab Clausen/McCoy after Bulaga/Pouncey/Iupati & Wilson/McCourtey/Jackson were off the board.

I'm really hoping the Colts are aggressively pursuing their OLine needs and CB issues. I'd LOVE Spievey, the CB out of Iowa in either the 2nd or 3rd. I'd also love if we traded up early in the 2nd round to grab either Charles Brown or Rodger Staffold, and I'm really really really hoping that we plan on drafting Kyle Callaway, the OT from Iowa in the 3rd or 4th round.

Was really surprised at some of the directions the Colts took.

I like the DE in the first round? Surprised at a LB in the second. I think we struck pay dirt in the third again with a CB.

the OG is a possible person, but loved the TE. He brings a lot to the team if he can still be successful in most of those positions.

Another LB...but glad we finally took a flyer on a person that might be able to be a return man.

Love Hughes - Should be able to contribute right away as a situational pass-rusher/possible OLB/to spell Freeny & Mathis. And it sounds like he could/should blossom into the next Freeney/Mathis.

Not crazy about Pat Angerer - from the reviews of him, it sounds like he could be the next Zach Thomas, though he was definitely a reach. If we were that confident in this guy to replace Brackett, why did we re-sign Brackett to a 4 year deal or something.

Like Kevin Thomas, the CB from USC. I love getting players from big-time schools...it sounds like he was a ton of talent, just hasn't stayed healthy or preformed up to his abilities. I imagine he'll step in and at least be a #3 or 4 CB in our system.

Don't really know much about the OG, and what's the deal with the TE? I was away from the TV during the draft, and the only thing I know about the guy is that he's an offensive linemen turned TE???

Absolutely loved our last pick, Ray Fisher...Looks like we finally addressed the return game, I just hope he pans out as a solid returner.

Overall - I'm pretty happy with the individual picks, but I still wish we addressed the OLine a little earlier. I think it would've been worth it to trade our 1st & 3rd to move up and grab either Pouncey or Bulaga in the middle of the 1st round, but I'm guessing Polian really wanted Jerry Hughes. I'm glad we added depth along the DLine, CB, and LB - all with players who could make an immediate impact while taking over a starting position in a few years.
