throttlers 0 Posted August 14, 2010 Hi guys, I have been using this board for years, but this is the first time I actually got the cheat sheet compiler/draft buddy. I am impressed with the compiler. I am trying to figure out if there is any need for me to use the draft buddy with a cbs league. It seems it does for me pretty much the same thing the cbs draft room does for the entire league. I guess there is the fact that I wouldn't have to change player rankings manually in cbs if I want them to show up right in the draft room. I just don't know if that is worth having to jump back and forth between both during the draft. I have to have the cbs draft room up because I am the commish and I have to input the picks. Most of our guys are local, but we have a few that just join the draft room online. Is there any other thing that the draft buddy will do for me that makes it worth having both running during the draft?
Mike MacGregor 20 Posted August 14, 2010 Hi throttlers. Thanks for trying out the Compiler and Draft Buddy this year. I'm glad you like the Compiler - and Buddy too I presume, but we just need to figure out if it is worth using for your particular circumstances. It is a bit of a tough call for online drafts, depending on how much you want to put into prepping your draft site before the draft. Buddy of course has your own rankings and cheatsheets set to go. If you go through the trouble updating the CBS default rankings to match those from the Compiler/Buddy, then I guess you are in a similar position. I will admit, depending on how fast the online draft is flying along, it can at times be a little tough to keep up with Buddy if you have to tab back and forth between the live draft window and Buddy. I usually have no trouble with it but if you get into a draft where a couple teams are auto-picked by computer, that can be more difficult. Auctions are also harder to keep up with. It is even a little more complicated in your case because you have to input picks for other teams. One thing I find that helps, if this is an option, is to use dual-monitors - one for the live draft window and one for Buddy. Or re-size each window so both are always visible, which makes the back and forth easier. That is, if you decide to use Buddy for your draft of course. Whatever you decide, good luck! It's like having multiple desktops you can flip back and forth between. last year, i flipped between Draft Buddy and the online draft room with a simple keyboard shortcut. It worked like a charm.
