IMMensaMind 462 Posted September 9, 2010 Okay: high-falootin' money league; 12 team redraft (5th spot). Very QB-heavy (all TDs are worth either 6, 9 or 12 points, dependent upon length) quasi-PPR league (7rcpts=5points); yardage league (2.5yds passing = .1 pt; 1yd rushing/receiving = .1pt) Bonuses: 5 pts for 300+yds passing; 100 yds rushing and 120yds receiving. Must start 1 QB; 2 RBs; 2 WRs; 1 TE; 1 K; 1 D/ST. So here's the team I just drafted: QB: Aaron Rodgers / Alex Smith RB: Ryan Matthews / Jahvid Best / Ronnie Brown / Bernard Scott / Javon Ringer / Anthony Dixon WR: Calvin Johnson / Hakeem Nicks / Johnny Knox / Legedu Naanee / Massaquoi TE: Vernon Davis / Dustin Keller K: Nick Folk D/ST: San Fran / Cincy I'm pretty happy overall with this team. What are your thoughts?

What are your thoughts? You only start 8? Overall, looks solid. RB is a bit weak after your top 3, but that's to be expected. Your top 3 receivers should also be performers as well. Why draft a backup TE and D though? Davis and San Fran are both solid enough that they should be getting the start in pretty much every game that isn't a bye. ichinese 0 Posted September 9, 2010 i like it. looks promising. i especially like the 49ers you've got. i like your three rb lottery tickets but if they don't come to fruition (and i really hope as a '9ers fan dixon's value this year ends up being negligible) i think your rb core looks a bit thin. i like matthews as a rb2, not a rb1 (my gut tells me he'll fall in between the good and decent categories). i wasn't ready to draft a guy who has yet to score a nfl td at his expected adp/value. i really like best as your rb2, super awesome home run capabilities (big potential for long tds and total yardage) and of course greater than average injury risk. i like you're wr2 possibilities. one should emerge. overall, especially with rodgers, a vn team. RaiderHaters Revenge 4,590 Posted September 9, 2010 why do teams that draft Rodgers carry 2 QB's? why do teams that draft one of the top 6 TE's carry 2 TE's? pick up some more rb's
IMMensaMind 462 Posted September 9, 2010 I wanted a team that I didn't have to scour the waiver wire for on player bye weeks. There is no expansion draft in this league; 18 players rostered, and that's it. In point of fact, though - there really weren't better quality RBs on the board (or any other position, really), so I drafted backups for bye weeks (Alex Smith has the Rams during Rodger's bye week, for instance). I had to go Matthews, as after that, the RBs were thin. My 2nd RB pick would have been Arian Foster, but - shockingly - he was picked before I took Jahvid Best. IIRC, my draft order was (1) Rodgers (2) Matthews (3) Calvin Johnson (4) Best.

My top 4 picks were Ray Rice (1) (Rodgers went 1 pick ahead of me), Matthews (2), Greg Jennings (3) (Calvin went a few picks ahead), and (4) Best. I was shooting for Arian Foster in the 4th as well, but he went several picks earlier leaving me (and you) Best.

I was pissed too, because the clown doesn't know what he's doing (there were great RB choices still available to him). Squirrel, meet nut (maybe, lol). Oddly, Greg Jennings went ahead of Calvin Johnson (I'm in Wisconsin, so I'm not shocked - the same thing happened with JerMichael Finley, who I really really really wanted this year). ....and...a fellow Packers fan to boot! All is well in the world....lol
