k2208 0 Posted September 15, 2010 I have a Grant owner in my league offer me Desean Jackson for Shonn Greene. That would leave me starting Moreno & Pierre Thomas at RB, and Jackson, Steve Smith(Car), and Miles Austin for my WR/Flex. Any thoughts?
swashbuckler 0 Posted September 15, 2010 That's a tough one. Personally, I like DJ. I think the dude has serious point potential (Kolb will come around eventually and if Vick becomes the starter as he should be, there's no doubt he will be a great Wideout). After seeing how much LT got in Greenes mix, I'm not so sure how well he will do this year. But it really depends on your roster depth.
k2208 0 Posted September 15, 2010 After Moreno, Pierre, and Shonn Greene I have Fred Jackson, Bernard Scott and Karreem Huggins.(I think Scott and Huggins will eventually be starters due to injury) At receiver I have Mike Sims-Walker, Miles Austin, Meachum, Steve Smith(Car), and Vincent Jackson. I just think Jackson will put up more points weekly than Greene, and I may be able to deal one of my other WR's for another RB.

k2208 0 Posted September 15, 2010 So......Go for it? I am leaning heavily towards yes.
swashbuckler 0 Posted September 15, 2010 Yea, I would. I think the trade is in your favor.
Jeepz 0 Posted September 15, 2010 I say without a doubt. LT really worries me with Greene. I actually prefer PT over him right now (and probably all season long). Scott and Huggins are fine depth, you might not even have to wait for an injury, maybe. I have DJax, I like him, I'll be patient with him and am still expecting big things. With Austin WR1 and Smith WR2, you'll have another WR2 for a flex. With MSW as some depth (I'd see if Royal or Clayton are on waivers, you could probably count on them more than Meachem in PPR), I think you'll be fine. Do it. MRclutch4 0 Posted September 15, 2010 I wouldn't accept that trade. Jackson is a great WR, but you already have pretty good Wide Receivers. Besides, Moreno's carries are going to decrease with the Pats trading Maroney to Denver, so you will probably need Greene. By the way, thank you for answering mine. Jeepz 0 Posted September 15, 2010 See, I think Moreno can hold off Maroney or at least be less affected than Greene and LT. That said, and I wasn't thinking about this, but I hate WR for RB trades. RBs are harder to find. Can't believe that didn't pop into my head earlier, but perhaps there's a package deal there for you that keeps you in RB depth. Unless you're really confident you can turn your WR depth into an RB.

I think I've been convinced. You don't *need* DJax, and there is no such thing as too much good RB depth, and Greene, for all you may not like him, is still solid RB depth. k2208 0 Posted September 16, 2010 Anyone else have an opinion on this? Thanks in advance!
Tacks 0 Posted September 16, 2010 I would stay put. Losing Greene leaves you pretty thin at RB. You don't "need" a WR. If you make this trade, you'll eventually find yourself "needing" a RB. IMO, although you're WRs are solid, you don't have enough depth at WR to hold onto V Jackson. I would look to the waiver wire and replace V Jackson with a Naanee or Clayton type FA. I know I kind of contradicted myself here. Dumping V Jackson for someone who is playing is better than trading a good Back like Greene for D Jackson. Make sense? Good luck and thanks for mine. toadman 0 Posted September 16, 2010 I think I would keep Greene. Wide receivers are kind of week to week. Greene, despite LTs good game Monday is going to get carries every game. LT will likely wear down as the year goes on. Also, the Jets are still keeping the training wheels on Sanchez so he should get plenty of work.
maddog202067 0 Posted September 16, 2010 I'd be very leary to drop Greene at this point. I wouldnt take Monday nite as precursor to the rest of his season. Others are trying to jump on him thinking low sale. It would ruin your depth at RB in case of injuries.
gcmmidwest 149 Posted September 16, 2010 one good pop & d.j. is out for the season ...,followed him since his long beach poly days he's fast ,but lets face it he's a shrimp i think wr's are a dime a dozen ...,productive rb's are hard to find greene on the other hand is a beast that use to run over players in Iowa ..,i see L.T. getting a lil boo boo & nursing his injury all season while greene runs wild keep greene see mine please http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=370371
thegame7000 0 Posted September 16, 2010 I would not do that trade either. Maroney clouds things in Denver and honestly, I am not sold on Desean this year. It is risk/reward...but a little too much of the former for me.
