beemo 0 Posted October 22, 2011 The Raiders had three kickers in at the close of practice for tryouts. Although there was no confirmation from the team, they were believed by be Rhys Lloyd, Ricky Schmitt and Dave Rayner. Janikowski was moving stiffly during the early portion of practice, loading footballs into a JUGS gun to give return specialists a workout. He was officially listed as questionable for the game -- which will officially be seen on TV in the Bay Area -- with a left hamstring strain. http://www.mercurynews.com/raiders/ci_19165103 Adam Schefter is now saying that, ‘Raiders bringing in kickers today. They know they might have to shut down Sebastian Janikowski for a few weeks due to hamstring injury." http://kansascity.sbnation.com/2011/10/21/2505140/adam-schefter-sebastian-janikowski-will-officially-miss-oakland Well this stinks. I know he's "just a kicker," but he's been an awesome "just a kicker" this season, tied for first in points in my league. What are owners doing with him? Cutting him outright or looking for a fill-in and leaving him on the bench? At his age, I have to wonder if he'll heal quickly from this injury, so I guess I'll be dropping him like many seem to be doing as well.
p.man 7 Posted October 22, 2011 He was dropped in my league. I would pick him up but I am not giving up J.Hanson or S.Gostkowski.
effective 0 Posted October 22, 2011 I'm holding him in my league where you start 5 kickers.
Kent 228 Posted October 22, 2011 I'm dropping him in the morning as soon as I get an official ruling he is out. Sucks. My season has been cursed and now even my kicker is hurt. I will be happy when this fantasy season is over.
Patmos 2 Posted October 22, 2011 He is definitely out. The Raiders have signed Dave Raynor to replace him. Raynor kicked great for the Lions last year and will do well as a replacement.
JT 137 Posted October 22, 2011 Reliable sources say they expect him back after their bye next week. Your KC link is the only place I've seen saying anything like "several weekends".
lguero1 4 Posted October 23, 2011 Sea Bass is a beast in my bonus yardage leagues. I'm waiting for him. Please come back week 9 so i don't have to drop you or hanson.
ramblin'wreck 0 Posted October 23, 2011 This is crushing news for me. Janikowski has been No. 1 Kicker in my league. I would never like to carry 2 kickers, but may need to do this time. Other available kickers in my league are the likes of Dan Carpenter, Nick Folk, Connor Barth, etc. I was contemplating dropping Janikowski for one of these, but couldn't do it. If you lost Janikowski, who did you pick up?

If you lost Janikowski, who did you pick up? Having to waste two spots on kickers to carry Janikowski through the bye is bad enough, but having to cut someone to do it is killing me right now. Since I can add and make the move prior to kickoff, I've held off on cutting him outright hoping the situation would improve as more information came out. I'm targeting Conner Barth. He's coming off a great game against NO (17 points in my league), plays for a pretty weak Bucs team, and is going against Chicago. It's just a matter of who to axe to make room for him.
