Anybody have a married couple in their league?

Recommended Posts

I feel like this is essentially 2 entries from the same person into the paid league. It doesn't seem fair.

i had that happen last year, a guys wife took over a team that dropped out. "she" went on to win the league.

I brought it up because they made a lopsided trade last year that didn't get enough no votes. It was made while half the league wasn't paying attention and it helped one win the title and the other lose out and get top pick.

I have a similar dilemma. We have 3 brothers and their father and sometimes they tend to think alike voting on trades. We have had some issues in the past but that's Fantasy Football. Trades always cause commotion. The thing is they don't try and rig trades. As long as it isn't one person owning 2 teams then I say you just kind of have to live with it.

We did have a guy play one year who shared a team with his GF. They didn't do well because they couldn't agree on draft picks and I'm sure any decision was the same in the season. So it has it's plus too.

I am the commish in my league and my wife fills in when a team is vacated sometimes. I have never had any issue what so ever, we just don't trade with each other! Not because I would collude with her, but because even the fairest of trades would be questioned as being unfair. I also have drafted for friends who couldn't make the draft, one year I drafted my team, my wifes team, and two of my friends and all 4 finished in the money. I didn't trade with a damn one of them. I think before you pass judgment you have to understand some people are honest, such as myself, and some are not. Problem being though is everyone questions the fairness of trades if it is not with them. Collusion is VERY rare, but people like to cry wolf. In 16 years of fantasy football I have seen it once, and they admitted as much because one guy won almost all the time and they wanted to beat him. There as the one time a guy traded McNabb for a 6 pack of Bud Light...

I have never really faced that type of problem at all. I actually get my wife's advice on who to draft when I can't make a decision. I say, which name do you like better, this guy or this guy. It helped last year, she helped me pick McCoy over Spiller, took Josh Gordon, Antonio Brown, Peyton. Needless to say I won our league.
