mrmostlymittens 7 Posted August 25, 2014 I'm currently considering offering a trade of Brandin Cooks and Ben Tate for Deandre Hopkins and Pierre Thomas. Pierre looked fantastic against the Colts (preseason, I know) and Hopkins has a killer schedule (Fitz doesn't scare me either). Despite the hype, I've yet to see solid evidence that Cooks will be anything more than a rookie reciever on a team stacked at the position and Tate isn't going to have many holes to run through the way the Browns are playing. Am I thinking straight? 10 Team, Standard Scoring NFL.com league QB: Brady, Foles RB: Stacy, Spiller, Gerhart, Vereen, Tate, West WR: Demaryius, Patterson, Maclin, Cooks, Boykin, Gordon TE: Graham DST: Bucanneers/Browns
DaBeerz 88 Posted August 25, 2014 I'm a bit of a believer that you have to have some confidence in what you drafted and see how that pans out before you start booking trades, the season hasn't even started yet. A lot of the time I've seen guys give up on players too early and dump productive players onto the WW as well. I typically work the heck out of the WW before trying to trade, every year I've managed to pick up some serious value there. If you're initiating the trade, your initial offer likely will be countered with something else and you won't get value. Don't put too much stock in preseason, players are just using it to get in game shape, and vets aren't playing to 100% of their ability. I don't like your defenses, however you're solid in other positions. I'd sit with what you got, you have great depth everywhere.
