brees6221 0 Posted August 25, 2014 Hi, I joined a 10 team league where the commissioner changes the scoring each year to some very unorthodox settings. It's mostly for fun and to get us discussing and debating various point settings. Can Draft Buddy accommodate the following? 1. QB a. Incomplete pass = -1pt. b. Sack = -1pt. c. Multiple passing yard game. Specifically 300-449yds = 5pts, 450+yds = 10pts 2. QB/RB/WR/TE a. Multiple rushing/receiving yard game. Specifically 125-199yds = 5pts, 200+yds = 10pts Positions are QB, QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, W/R/T, K, DEF, D, D, BN, BN, BN, BN Thank you for your help! Mike MacGregor 20 Posted August 26, 2014 It can do all of the QB scoring listed there, with the exception of 450+ yard passing games, unless you add projections for those and use the custom scoring options. Realistically, you probably don't want to count on a 450+ yard game for any QB to impact your fantasy rankings, because they are so rare. Is the second part combined rushing + receiving yards? That one is a little trickier. We have separate categories starting at 0 yards for each of rushing and receiving, plus separate categories for a 100+ yard rushing game, or 100+ yard receiving game. I'm sure we could come up with something that would roughly approximate the 125+ yard scoring for your league. The 200+ yard scoring would be similar as the 450+ yard passing for QBs. brees6221 0 Posted August 26, 2014 Thanks for the response, Mike. I read one of your responses to another post yesterday where the person was asking about bonus points for yardage reached and you said something along the lines that the guys reaching those marks are already the ones you would draft first. Makes sense. The second part isn't combining those yards, just saying it's the same pts/yds for receiving and rushing at all of those positions. Thanks again! brees6221 0 Posted August 26, 2014 Also, I read the instructions webpage and still couldn't find where to put in -1 for the QB if he gets sacked or throws an incompletion. Is that what you're calling pass attempt and rush attempt? Thanks.
Mike MacGregor 20 Posted August 26, 2014 Okay, so if they aren't combined, then I guess I would use the 100+ categories for each … maybe give 4 or 4.5 points for a 100+ yard game, to account for times a player falls in the 100-124 range. Whoops, I did not see sacks allowed. I "brees"-ed right over that. Sorry. We do not have projections for sacks allowed. Incompletions is just a little math trick. -1 for incompletions is the same as -1 for pass attempts and +1 for pass completions, so use both of those QB categories and you'll be good for the incompletions. If you want to add sacks against projections to the custom fields for QB, then you can use the custom scoring tab to deduct points for your projections. The custom fields are found to the far right of the QB tab.
